Logistics Chargehand (Blue Hat) - BMS - Days

Main Duties:
· Supervising a team of up to 8 logistics operatives.
· Completing daily briefings before work starts and ensuring all operatives understand their daily tasks and are aware of any new hazards within their work areas.
· To inform all operatives of any changes related to site duties or site requirements - sign off Point Of Work Risk Assessments (POWRAs) where required.
· Supervision & engage in housekeeping duties within the construction area.
· Supervision & engage in the removal of unneeded equipment & amnesty items.
· Supervision & engage in waste segregation and removal of waste from within the building and external areas.
· Supervision & engage in the management/recording/replenishing/maintenance of all fire points, consumables and signage within the designated construction spaces.
· Supervise & engage in the installation & maintenance of emergency signage & equipment throughout designated construction spaces.
· Ensuring photo evidence is taken of 100% of works completed, with before & after images taken.
· Ensure all traceability paperwork is properly signed for.
· During cold and freezing temperatures, supervise & complete the logistics winterisation processes and procedures in the designated construction areas.
· To ensure the completion of daily checks-sheets, report any defects to the manager and records are handed back to be stored for audit and data recording purposes.
· Deliver familiarisation/competency training and return records for audit/data recording purposes.
· Ensure all plant/equipment are maintained and return records for audit and data recording purposes, highlighting to the relevant line manager when defects are noted.
· Ensure plant and equipment are stored correctly and keys are secured when not in use.
· Supervise & complete the cleaning of spills on site including biohazards.
· Deliver Toolbox Talks to operatives as & when required & pass records to the relevant line manager.
· Any additional reasonable duties requested by the relevant line manager.
· Ensure others do not task your team without the authority to do so.
· Ensure that HPC code of conduct is followed at all times, by all team members.
· Any additional reasonable duties requested by the relevant line manager.
Requirements:
CITB HS&E Supervisor Test (to be completed before start date)
SSSTS (must be obtained within the first 3 months of employment)
CPCS Card (Traffic Marshal) or willing to work towards
Previous Supervisory Experience
Demonstrate the ability to think and act quickly in emergencies or under pressure
Able to successfully execute SOP's, Risk Assessments, and Method Statements to teams
Excellent communication skills, written & verbal, with internal and external stakeholders
Demonstrate reliability, including and have strong time management skills, to ensure team effectiveness
Understanding of Health and Safety responsibilities and obligations
Benefits:
£24.24 per hour
Average of 40.25 hours per week working on a rotation of 12-hour shifts, 4 on, 5 off, 5 on, 4 off, 5 on, 5 off, providing a positive work/life balance
Core hours of 39 hours per week. Additional hours will be paid at an overtime rate
FTE of 23 days annual leave plus bank holidays (pro-rata)
Enhanced rate of pay for unsociable hours
