Junior Cost Controller

 

The candidate will spend the majority of their time at the Main offices on site.
The candidate would be expected to discuss and understand the works of the area they are allocated to.

 

The team this role will belong to is mainly responsible for:

 

  • Equipment Purchase, Maintenance and the end of the day Refurbishment and re-sale
  • Stores (buying in of material & consumables, and selling off to the various projects)
  • Various workshops (Formwork, Scaffolding, Joinery, Mechanical, Electrical, etc)
  • Equipment Rental
  • Logistics and support function to the other projects (Nuclear Island, Heat Sink, Galleries, etc, etc)
  • Daily tasks would include but not limited to:
  • Allocation of cost in line with the budget at purchase order stage
  • Reviewing labour allocations, to ensure it is done correctly within the various teams within PLALOG
  • Doing weekly labour hours analysis of each PLALOG team
  • Assisting the store team in following the purchase of material & consumables as Stock in, and then re-charging these material & consumables accurately to the various projects it was sent to (Stock-out).
  • Updating and maintaining of the Equipment list in terms of purchase price, transport cost, set-up cost and additional accessories.
  • Cost allocation and summarizing of Equipment Rental for the various projects
  • Assisting the LPM team on problematic supplier accounts, by resolving unpaid invoices.

 

Required skills & experience:
 

  • This is a great opportunity for someone who has just finished studying a finance , management accountancy or cost accountancy related discipline and is looking for an opportunity to gain experience and develop their career within Cost Control
  • Experience is not required as training with be given.
  • Must be willing and driven to learn new skills, and have an interest in the construction sector.
  • Excel training will also be of huge assistance in their day to day duties.
  • SAP training and/or experience is desirable 
  • An understanding of the importance of meeting deadlines.
  • Appreciation for confidential and sensitive information
  • Ability to work both within a team and in collaboration with other departments, sharing documents and information.
  • An understanding that events that take place on site, will have an financial impact.
