Opportunity…

 

We are looking for an Information and Data Lead who will report into a Commissioning Manager and be responsible for having complete oversight of the information/data required to safety and effectively execute the Commissioning phase of the Hinkley Point C (HPC) project.


The first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years; HPC will provide low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, and make a major contribution to the UK’s move to reduce carbon emissions.


As the Commissioning Information and Data Lead, you will be required to be the leading figure of data and information management within Commissioning, and the single point of contact for the wider HPC project. You will be required to have knowledge of all Commissioning processes and associated information/data requirements, acting as the liaison to the wider project to ensure these requirements are met in line to the project objectives of safety, quality, time, and cost.


You will also take on the role as data steward for the Commissioning function which consists of the following responsibilities:

 

  • Managing and approving the quality of data.
  • Having oversight of the full roadmap of information flowing in and out of Commissioning.
  • Supporting Data Owners in applying data management procedures.
  • Monitoring and managing data quality, including raising issues.
     

You will have the unique opportunity to develop a broad understanding of all elements of the Commissioning Programme’s organisation and arrangements including the technical delivery. You will play a leading role in implementing a data centric approach to the Commissioning Programme and its interfaces into the wider HPC project.

What you’ll be doing…

 

  • Having full oversight and scrutiny of the information and data following in and out of commissioning.
  • Working with the various process owners in Commissioning to understand the information and data requirements to enable effective commissioning.
  • Regularly engaging and building relationships with the wider project to ensure these requirements are met in line with the schedule.
  • Providing information to assist the Commissioning Manager and Senior Commissioning Manager in meeting project-level objectives and milestones.
     

Who you are…

 

  • Technical information and data background and the ability to lead others in a project-driven environment.
  • Delivery mindset, able to get results through clear accountability and the confidence to influence stakeholders both internally and externally. 
  • Good communication skills and the ability to convey complex information to others.
  • Degree qualified (or equivalent experience) in a relevant discipline.
     

It would be great if you also have…

 

  • Experience in information / data management within a project environment, particularly in the nuclear industry.
  • Commercial awareness with an understanding of the impact of change.
  • Relevant experience implementing data centric plans / processes into an established organisation.
  • Experience of working in a regulatory environment.
