- Salary starting from £63,000.00 per annum, plus a guaranteed monthly bonus of 8.65% of your base salary while working at HPC

- Working 9 days across 2 weeks (Monday - Friday on week one, then Monday - Thursday on week two), working an average of 39 hours per week

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Health & Safety Manager at our exciting site at Hinkley Point C in Somerset.
As our Health and Safety Manager, you will be dedicated to supporting the business, our clients and the Health, Safety and Environmental department. You will be managing and monitoring the working practices of employees and contractors regarding health, safety, wellbeing, environmental and welfare across all WJ locations relating to the HPC project. You will be responsible for supporting the development of strategies and systems and providing advice and support to ensure Wilson James Logistics teams are working safely in line processes and procedures, including current legislation and industry best practice. You will drive the well-being agenda for all colleagues. The post holder will be fully integrated with Wilson James HSE leadership team, working collaboratively with senior leadership to underwrite Wilson James' principal priority: a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
- IOSH Qualification - Ideally a member or equivalent
- CSCS Card (professional card - white)
- Fire Qualification or experience in fire duties
- SMSTS
- Full UK Driving License
Experience:
- Experience managing a team of H&S professionals
- Strong working knowledge of Health and Safety regulations, specific to the construction industry logistics activities
- Strong construction or engineering background
- Demonstrate experience and knowledge of safety in plant and vehicle operations
- Experience working in a multi-disciplined safety-critical environment.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills, able to communicate at all levels
- IT literate - Strong electronic communication, spreadsheet, and presentation skills, and competent with all Microsoft Office packages
- An understanding of the principles of equality and diversity in relation to visitors' and employees'
Site Specific Information
- You must be able to provide a 3-year work/unemployment/education history required for the vetting process in line with Hinkley Point C protocols
- You must be able to obtain the Hinkley Point C pass
- The site is located remotely, and a bus journey of approx. 45 minutes each way is required to gain access
