Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Lead

Hinkley Point C 

 

Rate of pay: £27.39PH

42 Hours Per Week - flexible working required, weekday hours but may require weekend work and early or late starts as the project grows

 

The Health Safety, Environmental and Quality Lead is key within the security team ensuring the delivery of a safe working environment and able to provide advice, guidance and support on all HS&E issues across the team. They will be the Lead figure in liaising with NNB HS&E teams and ensuring and assuring compliance across the board. They will be the primary point of contact for inventory, equipment, vehicle and waste management compliance.

 

Key Responsibilities

● Provide expert advice on Health, Safety, Environment
● Develop and implement relevant policies and procedures.
● Coordinate and support HS&E initiatives.
● Provide HS&E training and instruction.
● Ensure statutory compliance with inspections and reporting.
● Conduct regular audits for safe working conditions.
● Monitor and report on HS&E standards.
● Manage quality documentation and compliance including RAs
● Maintain Health & Safety communication and awareness.
● Collaborate with HSE Advisor for compliance.
● Ensure HSE compliance for vehicles, waste, equipment, and uniforms.
● Respond to HSE incidents and manage incident reporting and investigation.
● Conduct internal audits per ISO 9001, NSI, and industry standards.
● Ensure GDPR compliance and manage data access requests.
● Perform other related duties as required including attending site safety meetings

Educational Requirements/Qualifications

● A good standard of education in Maths, English and IT.
● Minimum of Level 4 NEBOSH or equivalent industry qualification in HS&E

 

Preferred Experience

● Prior experience of delivering high quality HS&E quality assurance
● Ideal candidate will have experience working at this level within the security or a similar industry
● Be familiar with the industry standard awards and accreditations such as NSI, ACS and have worked towards them in previous roles
● Prior experience of educating others in HS&E principles
● Quality systems management qualifications is desirable
