Opportunity for a HSE Engineer working with Mactech on the Hinkley Point C project,


Rate: £240 PAYE to £330 UMBRELLA per day


Main Duties:

 

  • Maintain and improve Health, Safety and Environmental performance across the Commissioning programme
  • Review Commissioning RAMS and provide technical safety advice to eliminate/reduce risks
  • Support production of Health and Safety performance reports, identifying trends and early warnings
  • Establish and maintain Health and Safety risk profiles and conduct risk-based assessments
  • Implement Commissioning H&S arrangements during the commissioning phase
  • Monitor health and safety surveillances within Commissioning and DMIC scope
  • Provide practical advice on technical safety issues
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with contractors and project teams
  • Support development of positive Safety culture across the project
  • Coordinate day-to-day HSSE/Fire management between Commissioning Programme teams
  • Participate in Health and Safety assurance activities
  • Support interface management between commissioning safety processes


Qualifications/Experience:

 

  • NEBOSH HSE Diploma or equivalent with minimum 1.5 years' experience
  • Strong communication skills with ability to develop wide network
  • Health and Safety experience in large project environments
  • Strong focus on risk/hazard identification and mitigation
  • Ability to produce high quality records and reports
  • Competent in Microsoft applications
  • Knowledge of national and international HSE standards
  • Experience engaging with others on health, safety and environmental issues


Desirable Qualifications:

 

  • Chartered membership of IOSH or working toward membership
  • Knowledge of CDM Regulations
  • Experience in nuclear or power generation industry
  • Previous commissioning phase experience
  • Multi-contractor environment experience
