HQ Construction Engineer - Piping

Provide the building team with technical support and guidance
Accountabilities:
1. Lead, manage and motivate the team through implementation of best practice.
2. Accountable for delivery of discipline specific construction scope of works to support the MEH construction activities. This includes cradle to grave installation of components associated with the specific discipline for the role.
3. Management through liaison with other MEH groups, the safety, quality and schedule adherence of the work scope.
4. Liaising with necessary SME's and client counterparts
5. Ensuring documents are compliant with latest works information and other MEH documentation
6. Ensure documents are kept up-to-date and reviewed periodically where required
7. Ownership and driving of deliverables from conception to A-Accepted status.
8. Prioritisation and ownership of documentation to enable construction works as per the level 4 plan.
9. Support continuous improvement programmes to improve process/procedures
10. Directly report to the Building Lead or nominated deputy.
11. Provide and demonstrate a positive HSE leadership, building a strong and compliant HS&E culture throughout the whole construction life cycle of the Project.
12. Ensure compliance with all nuclear safety and site licence requirements
13. Provide line management to other team members and/or deputise for the Building Lead where required.
Key Deliverables:
1. Receive, analyse, coordinate and action works information documentation associated with the specific discipline of the work.
2. Deliver discipline specific construction documentation including workpack's in support of the installation programme of activities.
3. Use provided systems to monitor and manage time allocation of teams and work progression in line with the project schedule.
4. Report on installation progress, forecast planning and management of works scope associated with the discipline activities.
5. Provide coordination between disciplines and areas ensuring interfaces are managed appropriately for best schedule adherence.
6. Support and enable other MEH work teams such as temporary services, surveying, coatings in ensuring a coordinated approach to the works.
Qualifications
1. Degree qualification or equivalent vocational training and specified discipline.
2. Relevant Professional Accreditation - desirable.
3. Can achieve Security Clearance (BPSS or Higher)
4. CCNSG Safety Passport
Experience
- Proven track record of working in a highly regulated sector, preferably in nuclear and within the specific discipline of the role title.
- Knowledge and experience in Safe Systems of Work
- Experience working on major construction projects
- Experienced in delivering and operating at Engineer or Senior Engineer level, ideally including experience working within Joint Ventures
- Positive, can-do mentality
- Adaptive problem-solving mind set
- Proven track record of success.
- Strong leader with collaborative nature
- Ability to reach sensible compromise position
