Job Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to Construction Teams for Fire Safety and Emergency Preparedness
- Conduct Fire Risk Assessments to ensure compliance with MEH Emergency arrangements in accordance with nationally recognised guidance to an accepted standard in a timely manner.
- Develop Fire Safety Action Tracker and manage effectively in a timely manner.
- Liaise with HSSE Team and the Fire Safety Emergency Preparedness Manager to deliver Fire Safety actions in line with our service level arrangements.
- DSEAR Assessments overview and update as necessary and ensure appropriate inspection and maintenance systems are in place to maintain good practices.
- Deliver necessary training to support the on-site operations and to support the delivery of Fire Safety and Emergency Preparedness.
- Assist with Emergency Exercises to support the Emergency Preparedness processes.
- Maintain EP/Fire & Rescue standards and champion Health and Safety. They will support locally, at platform level, champion relevant areas of best practice.
- The role holder will support the HPC Way, ensuring the Site work effectively and works to one Culture, assist with Emergency Exercises to support MEH Exercise Programme
- Awareness of The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and legislative changes to ensure compliance with Fire Safety/DSEAR requirements during construction works.
- Write reports and identify key learning from Fire Safety exercises.
- Review Fire Risk Assessments and DSEAR Assessments
- Provide SME advice on Fire and Emergency Preparedness
Qualifications
- Fire Risk Assessment Certification L3/4
- DSEAR Training
- Technician Membership of a professional body e.g., IOSH or IFE and CPD record or willing to work toward full membership of suitable professional body.
- Experience
- Writing of Fire Risk Assessments in either Construction or High Hazard Environment.
- Construction background or similar dynamic workplace with a minimum 3 years' experience.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills to explain HSE procedures and expectations to a range of people
- Working knowledge of the Fire Safety Regulations
- Experience delivering toolbox talks
- Conducting fire drills or first aid exercises
Experience
- Suitable site experience in a similar role.
- Willing to undertake Level 3 Award in Education & Training / PTLLS or equivalent if required
- Willing to undertake further professional development.
- An investigative mind and a keen eye for detail
