We are looking for a fully qualified and experienced individual to support the Electrical Lead in leading and overseeing a team of Electrical Engineers on a mobile basis across a range of sites within the Hinkley Point C contract. To ensure that the team of engineers complete all PPM and reactive maintenance activities in a timely manner and in line with contract SLAs and statutory compliance.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a team of Electricians, overseeing reactive repairs, PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance), and minor project tasks.
  • Manage safety protocols, including "Set to Works" and issuing "Permit to Works" where necessary.
  • Mentor and assist in the training and development of maintenance and technical staff to enhance site-wide expertise.
  • Quality check and formal sign-off for minor works, new installations, and EICRs (Electrical Installation Condition Reports).
  • Maintain the PAT register, ensuring all portable appliance testing is up to date and compliant.
  • Health & Safety Oversight: Conduct regular H&S checks on the team and the working environment to ensure a "Safety First" culture.
  • Diagnosis & Repair: Identify and rectify faults across all electrical support systems within levels of competence.
  • Operate and maintain heating, water, ventilation, mechanical, and security equipment effectively and safely.
  • Emergency Response: Participate in emergency call-out rotations to support Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) systems.
  • Technical Reporting: Author detailed reports and technical procedures for all building maintenance activities.
  • Help formulate quotes for system upgrades (where equipment is at capacity) and new minor works projects.
  • Coordinate with specialist sub-contractors and manage "Set to Works" to enable seamless servicing.

 

Qualifications

Essential

  • Fully Qualified Electrician: Must have completed a recognised apprenticeship or equivalent training. C&G 2360/2330 NVQ Level 3 or an equivalent qualification
  • Proven experience in Building & Facilities Maintenance within a commercial or industrial environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading a team and overseeing the quality of work for other technicians
  • Possession of BS 7671:2018 (18th Edition) Wiring Regulations is mandatory.
  • Holds a full, clean driving licence

 

Desirable

  • C&G 2391 T&I or equivalent
  • C&G 2396 Level 4 Design and Verification of Electrical Installations or equivalent
