Role Characteristics:
Hinkley Point C is the UK’s first new build nuclear power station in a generation that is critical to the UK NetZero targets.

Summary of Role
As a Project Manager, you will ensure the effective delivery of activities within the programme to required safety, quality, time and cost targets, while recognising and managing the impacts of the programme on the wider Project.
You will use your proven project management abilities to control that delivery in a controlled and informed manner.
Your role will be to build strong relationships, communication and teamwork to ensure project success.
Accountabilities:
- Driving the delivery of the contract or package activities to ensure they are delivered safely on time, to budget, meeting business & technical requirements.
- Developing and implementing strategies and plans in line with the overall programme execution plan (PEP), setting out how the programme of work will be managed, organised, and executed.
- Maintaining effective communications with all stakeholders and executing the project or PEP strategies within their contract or package of work.
- Monitoring and manage the progress of the programme - track progress against milestones, deadlines, budget and provide key stakeholders with reports on these matters.
- Forecasting, anticipating, managing, and resolving issues within the contract or package. Identifying risks and facilitating the resolution of all issues raised, developing, and updating the programme budget, and escalating any issues to the Delivery Manager.
- Ensuring that lessons-learnt and knowledge-capture are practiced as business as usual.
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all project team members.
- Always assure H&S compliance with all project matters, integrating with the HSSE team effectively for the scope delivery and expectations.
- Implementation and maintenance of the appropriate Quality measures through integration with the Quality team.
Other Duties / Responsibilities.
- Display a competent broad understanding of electrical systems, infrastructure, protection & distribution requirements, commercial construction industry practices, construction contracts and budget/schedule management.
- To engage and communicate with stakeholders to ensure that accurate timelines are maintained, and tasks delivered with development of appropriate meaningful KPI’s as necessary.
- Lead motivate and develop teams to drive projects and exceed expectations.
- Plan and develop the project from concept to completion, defining scope and monitoring progress.
Minimum Qualifications/ Experience
- Proven track record of Project Management capability within large scale and complex projects, ideally in regulated sectors and preferably within the Nuclear environment.
- Work experience equivalent to at least 10 years in the industry
- HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Professional Qualification in Project Management such as APM PMQ, Prince2 7 Practitioner or other recognised qualification.
Additional Qualifications/ Experience:
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Project Management and working knowledge and management experience of engineering and/or construction activities.
- Able to demonstrate strong skills and experience in project management, cost management, change management and facilitation.
- Proven successful experience in engaging multi-level stakeholders including contractors, consultants, and advisors.
- Working knowledge of CDM Regulations.
- Understanding the needs of nuclear quality and how nuclear quality is assured and controlled.
- Experience in the design, manufacturing and installation of electrical equipment is preferred.
