We have a vacancy for an Electrical CAD Lead to join us on the MEH Alliance, working on the Hinkley Point C construction project.  

The main purpose of the role is to provide leadership for the electrical CAD team; through clear provision of objectives, responsibilities, and accountabilities, managing performance accordingly

 

Accountabilities:

  • Arrange regular reviews to identify training needs, set objectives, offer guidance and feedback, to maximise the performance of the team. 
  • To be the on-site subject matter expert for all MEH JV electrical CAD related matters i.e. software, hardware, data storage etc. 
  • To prepare the documentation required to support the creation of MEH JV electrical CAD drawings and models. 
  • To support the procurement team with the production of procurement specifications for the purchase of CAD software, hardware, and plotter consumables etc. 
  • Liaise with the EPM team and execution designers regarding the access to CAD and model files for the electrical scope. 
  • Liaise with the equipment suppliers regarding the provision of digital information to support the introduction of their equipment into the MEH JV electrical CAD drawings. 
  • To support the creation and management of the MEH JV electrical CAD boarder files. 
  • Regular liaison with the on-site electrical team to support the production of construction drawings and details based on the installation book of rules for site run installations at HPC. 
  • To ensure that drawings are produced to support the installation of "site run" installations can be replicated in unit 2. 
  • To liaise with the site construction teams regarding the development of As Installed drawings.

 

Qualifications:
Proficient in AutoCAD.

 

Experience:

  • Substantial experience of CAD / BIM, 3D coordination and of MEP services. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal). 
  • Proficient use of IT and MS Office software. 
  • Good working knowledge of data management and data security.
