Key Responsibilities


Installation & Construction


Install encasement systems around structural components such as steel beams, columns, pipework, ducts, and service risers.
Build metal stud or timber framing to support encasements as required.
Fix plasterboard, cement board, fire-resistant board, and other cladding materials securely and accurately.
Apply appropriate fire-stopping, insulation, and acoustic materials as specified.
Construct service-boxing and riser encasements to precise dimensions and tolerances.


Fire Protection & Compliance


Install fire-rated encasements in compliance with manufacturer specifications and UK building regulations.
Ensure all penetrations are correctly sealed using approved fire-stopping materials.
Maintain accurate documentation where required for fire-safety sign-off.


Finishing & Quality


Tape, joint, and finish encasements to a high standard ready for plaster or paint.
Ensure all works meet required quality benchmarks and are snag-free.
Read and interpret technical drawings, site plans, and method statements.


Health, Safety & Site Conduct


Adhere to site safety rules and RAMS at all times.
Use appropriate PPE and maintain safe working practices.
Report hazards, defects, or safety concerns to the Site Manager.

NVQ LEVEL 2 Dry liner
CSCS Blue Card


Skills & Experience Required:


Proven experience in drylining, with specific experience in encasement works (structural and services).
Strong understanding of relevant fire protection principles.
Ability to read technical drawings and follow detailed installation instructions.
Competence in using hand tools, power tools, and board-cutting equipment.
Excellent attention to detail and finishing quality.
CSCS card required (Blue or above preferred).
Additional certifications (e.g., PASMA, IPAF, Asbestos Awareness) are desirable.
