The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Document Controller to join our Document Control Department on a full time basis at our Hinkley Point C site in Bridgwater. The main purpose of the role is to operate and maintain the project document control function for KAEFER UK & Ireland on the Hinkley Point C site. The Document Controller will ensure all technical, administrative and safety documentation is captured, indexed, issued, revised and archived in accordance with project procedures, nuclear quality requirements and client standards.
How you will make an impact
• Ensure proper version control of all project-related documentation in line with company and project procedures for receipt, storage, distribution, and archiving, using the internal Electronic Document Management System (Asite).
• Manage the receipt, storage, distribution, and archiving of all project documents, ensuring compliance with Client standards.
• Oversee the distribution of documentation to the Client in accordance with project requirements.
• Track and manage all project documents received from the Client, maintaining an up to date Master Document Register (MDR) or Controlled Document List (CDL).
• Provide regular progress updates to the Document Control Lead, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
• Offer guidance on document control procedures and coach less experienced team members.
• Identify and escalate blockers or issues to the Document Control Lead to enable timely resolution of document submission concerns by client Document Controllers.
• Ensure on-site documentation is managed and archived in accordance with KAEFER UK & Ireland's document control procedures.
• Contribute to process improvements by recommending and implementing enhancements to document management practices.
• Collaborate with KAEFER's onsite Quality Team to amend LTQRs as required.
• Coordinate with KAEFER's Package Managers to provide Work Acceptance Sheets (WAS) confirming room completion statistics.
• Meet weekly Document Control KPIs to support the smooth completion of documentation.
• Format documentation using Adobe Pro in line with Client requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of documentation status and report weekly to the Document Control Lead.
• Maintain version control and revision tracking for each document after amendments and upon submission to the ultimate Client for HPC.
• Assist the Document Control Lead with ad hoc administrative tasks.
What you will bring
• Experience in Adobe Pro formatting (Desirable)
• Computer literate, especially skilled in Microsoft Office & Adobe Acrobat (Essential)
• Ability to change priorities & deadlines with the demand of business or client need (Essential)
• Knowledge of various relevant industry standard Client documentation practices (Desirable)
• Experience of using an EDMS to submit documentation (Desirable)
• Experience in the control of documentation. 2+ years experience in a Document Control or role of similar nature (Essential)
• Strong communication skills with experience in engaging with Client (Desirable)
