Contract Type: Permanent  

Salary: Starting from £74,000 per annum (depending on experience)

As a Distribution Lead, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient delivery of on-site logistics at Hinkley Point C. With a methodical and strategic approach, you will oversee complex deployments and operational planning. You will be accountable for health and safety and the smooth operation of your areas of responsibility, supported by a team of experienced professionals handling daily tasks. Your primary focus will be on the broader picture, developing and rehearsing contingency plans for managing logistic capacity. Strong communication skills and the ability to foster and maintain relationships with key stakeholders will be crucial. As the operation becomes more digitised, you will be comfortable generating, reporting, and analysing data to maintain a safe, compliant, and efficient operation within client KPIs. When necessary, you will challenge established processes to maximise throughput and efficiency for both our clients and contractors.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the Wilson James Digital team 
  • Collaborate closely with NNB Logistics to agree on a feasible plan considering the  
  • logistics capacity constraints short and long term. 
  • Advise on mitigations and resource requirements to meet site demand 
  • Work with all on-site contractors to ensure logistics planning is coherent for all parties, including automated data feeds to the control tower. 
  • Collaboration with the Wilson James Business Intelligence team to develop and productise the Wilson James Logistics Digital product seeking automation throughout the supply chain. 
  • Develop logistics CI plan to underwrite robust logistics delivery of the construction programme enhancing visibility and digital decision making through the Wilson James control tower and business cloud. 
  • Responsible for elements of KPI reporting. 


 

What do we need from you: 

 

Skills, Experience and Qualifications 

 

Essential  

  • Highly experienced in Logistics planning and operations, especially for Major Capital projects, in the construction industry, or other relevant industries 
  • Strong data analytics, and data management, inquisitive with an ability to identify patterns and constraints 
  • Excellent IT skills with a working knowledge of all MS Office packages. (Excel, Word,  
  • PowerPoint, Access, Project). 
  • Working knowledge of Business Intelligence Analytics Tools (Power BI/Splunk/DOMO). 
  • Deep understanding of the Integrated Planning process. 
  • CITB HS&E Managers and Professionals certificate (MAPS) – must be obtained before the start date. 

 

Desirable 

  • Construction Logistics Expertise: Strong background in logistics operations, providing valuable insights into operational requirements 
  • A Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline. 
  • A working knowledge of: 
  • Primavera P6 (Scheduling) 
  • Supplier Collaboration 
  • Logistics or Supply Chain Planning tools 
  • WMS (Manhattan) 
  • DMS (Fulcrum) Distribution operations and telematics 

 

 

Site Specific Information: 

  • You must be able to provide a 3-year work/ unemployment/ education history required for the vetting process in line with HPC protocols. 
  • You must be able to obtain the HPC pass. 
  • The site is located remotely and a bus journey of 45 minutes each way is required to gain access.
