Construction Engineer – Technical Support
The MEH Alliance - Cavendish Nuclear 
Hinkley Point C 


Accountabilities:    
•    Support the Mechanical Construction Coordinator in the day-to-day engineering, construction sequencing and constructability for equipment introduction and fitting out of rooms and buildings at HPC site.
•    Provide engineering support for the generation of Construction Work Packs to Discipline Lead teams in charge of the free issue installation of equipment.
•    Analyse and communicate work scope boundaries between different parties to maintain construction interfaces.
•    Work with subject matter experts and client sided policies to define, engineer and communicate work scope to building teams. 
•    Record and maintain work through project changes processes to ensure traceability and good communication routes.
•    Maintain documentation and guidance to others inline with the relevant and current revision of client provided works information.
•    Support continuous improvement programmes to improve process/procedures
•    Provide and demonstrate positive HSE behaviours, building a strong and compliant HS&E culture throughout the whole construction life cycle of the Project.
•    Ensure compliance with all nuclear safety and site licence requirements.

 

 

Key Deliverables:    
•    Present constructability reviews using the 3D model and design information to effectively communicate with Building Teams in the pre-planning or post resolution of construction sequence issues.
•    Liaise with the client, designer, and construction teams to propose methods of performing works to meet sequence requirements whilst maintaining efficiency.
•    Provide insight and expertise to the generation of construction workpack’s.
•    Provide construction hot spot analysis for installation works and recommend solutions.
•    Analysing build sequence to understand interface and impacts. 
•    Extract meta-data from the PDMS construction model and interpret this in support of the building teams.


Minimum Qualifications/ Experience 
(in line with MEH Onboarding matrix) 
   
•    Relevant degree, HNC or apprenticeship in engineering related subject. A good opportunity for a Mechanical Graduate.

Minimum 2-5 years’ experience. 

 

Note:
A competency-based interview will be required to either confirm the above requirements or justify a deviation from them.

•    CCNSG Safety Passport
•    Capable of obtaining security clearance of BPSS or higher.
•    Competent in the use of AutoCAD and Navisworks 3D modelling programmes or equivalent.
