Construction Engineer Mechanical (CON40074)
The MEH Alliance- – Altrad Babcock 
Hinkley Point C 

 

 

Accountabilities:    
1.    Ultimately accountable to deliver Discipline Specific Construction Work Pack scope of works to support the MEH construction activities. 
2.    Review Works Information (drawings & 3D Model) to define the boundary of scope of works and plan installation.
3.    Liaising with necessary SME’s and client counterparts 
4.    Ensuring all necessary documents are compliant with latest works information and are kept up-to-date and reviewed periodically where required. 
5.    Assist in planning and sequencing.
6.    Raise FCR/RFI/NCR to assist in resolving installation issues, working to all stakeholders to develop solutions.
7.    Support continuous improvement programmes to improve process/procedures, to ensure installation target of Right First Time.
8.    Support the mobilisation of resource on site, including the necessary documentation (inc. permits), plant, material and controls are in place.
9.    Directly report to the Building Manager or nominated deputy. 
10.    Provide and demonstrate a positive HSE leadership, building a strong and compliant HS&E culture throughout the whole construction life cycle of the Project. 
11.    Support compliance with all nuclear safety and site licence requirements 
12.    Review and feedback on suitability of level of resource to effectively run the support function. 
13.    Manage hold points and surveillance with the client team through Surveillance request notification (SONIMS).

 

 

Key Deliverables:    
1.    Deliver Mechanical & Piping Construction Work Packs to support the MEH Alliance programme, including the development of ITPs. 
2.    Enable the use of the Procon system to support the construction works progress reporting.
3.    Enable the co-ordination of safe access routing to workfaces to support the MEH Alliance construction works. 
4.    Enable the topographical and other surveying required to support the MEH Alliance construction works. 


Minimum Qualifications/ Experience 
(in line with MEH Onboarding matrix)
Qualifications 

1.    Vocational training and/or experience of installing Mechanical and Piping systems. 
2.    Can achieve Security Clearance (BPSS or Higher) 

 

Experience 
3.    Experience working as a Construction/Project Engineer
4.    Proven track record of working in a highly regulated sector, preferably in nuclear 
5.    Knowledge and experience in Safe Systems of Work
6.    Experience working on major construction projects 
7.    Experienced in delivering and operating at Engineer or Senior Engineer level.


Additional Qualifications/ Experience:    
1.    CCNSG Safety Passport 
2.    IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH 
3.    Positive, can-do mentality 
4.    Adaptive problem-solving mind set
5.    Proven track record of success.
6.    Strong leader with collaborative nature
