Bouygues Travaux Publics (TP) and Laing O’Rourke, two of Europe’s most dynamic engineering and construction specialists, are working together in a joint venture named BYLOR to deliver the main civil engineering works at Hinkley Point C (HPC) worth over £2.8 billion.
Bylor are also responsible for the Design & Build (D&B) including fit out and handover of the HBX Operations Service Centre (OSC) within Hinkley Point C. The building is a mixed use warehouse/office/laboratory/restaurant and office building which connects to both Unit 1& 2 Turbine Halls via bespoke sky bridges. The OSC building is EDF’s flagship building so attention to detail and the final aesthetics are of great importance to the project. The building offers team members an experience to be part of highly complex, multi- disciplinary and architecturally astute building experience in the heart of the nuclear power plant.


Purpose of the role:


To lead and coordinate all aspects of the quality and construction records related to room handovers.
Ensuring all contractors handover in line with the project execution & quality plans at HPC. The HBX consists of over 800 rooms that will require coordinating and managing through to practical completion following a detailed handover strategy and schedule. Consideration for both CSA & MEP contractors will be essential for the successful handover of the HBX.


Key responsibilities and specific accountabilities:


• Develop and implement the room handover strategy and phased schedule for all areas within HBX.
• Coordinate with the Project Manager, Quality Lead, and construction teams to align handover plans with overall project milestones.
• Maintain and manage detailed records of room readiness, inspection outcomes, and quality documentation.
• Facilitate regular walkthroughs and snagging inspections with stakeholders.
• Ensure all snags are tracked, closed, and verified before final handover.
• Liaise with subcontractors and quality teams to ensure compliance with handover requirements.
• Monitor progress against handover schedule and proactively identify risks to timely delivery.
• Support digital tools or software used for quality and handover tracking (e.g., Fieldview, SnagR, BIM 360, etc.).
• Produce weekly reports and dashboards to track handover status and highlight issues.
• Coordinate with the records team and document control to ensure all contractors documentation is uploaded to the company softwares in line with the project quality exécution plan
• Required to attend regular meetings with the client liaison team to discuss progress and strategy


Essential skills & knowledge:


• Proven experience in construction quality, commissioning, or handover coordination on major infrastructure or building projects.
• Strong understanding of snagging processes and quality standards.
• Excellent planning, communication, and coordination skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple disciplines and teams.
• Experience with handover or field-based project management software preferred.
• Strong interpersonnel skills
• Confient verbal and written communicator
• Strong client relationship skills


Education & Qualifications:


• Must hold a degree in Building/Construction management or Civil engineering with relevant building experience
• IOSH/SMSTS or equivalent safety accreditation
• Planning software experience desirable (Asta/P6/Project or similar)
