Opportunity for a COSHH Coordinator working with BYLOR on the Hinkley Point C Project,
Are you an experienced CosHH Coordinator passionate about supporting the Health & Safety Managers, Do you have a background in science? and understand chemicals? if so this is an ideal opportunity for someone fresh from an apprentice program or graduate wanting to step into the world of Hinkley.
Bouygues Travaux Publics (TP) and Laing O'Rourke, two of Europe's most dynamic engineering and construction specialists, are working together in a joint venture named BYLOR to deliver the main civil engineering works at Hinkley Point C (HPC) worth over £4 billion.
Bylor is pushing the boundaries of innovation and modern technology while delivering high-quality construction on a massive scale.
Bylor has already broken the UK record for the largest continuous concrete pour of 9,000m3 of concrete.
This is a great opportunity to be part of a dynamic organisation that is challenging the industry and making history.
Key Role and Responsibility
- Assisting the Team with Chemical products and working to check against the CosH regulation act.
- Identify hazards or deficiencies, rate and rank risk to enable effective evaluation and communication of any required actions
- Conduct inspections and audits of projects, establishments and offices, and ensure these are undertaken in compliance with the compliance monitoring programme.
- Monitor compliance and ensure project teams are implementing the relevant parts of the Bylor safety management systems (SMS) and identify corrective action where required.
- Incorporating the behavioural tools as part of a continuous improvement cycle.
Key Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills:
- Must have relevant experience in Health & Safety within a construction environment
- Sufficient environmental knowledge to support the Bylor environmental agenda
- Good understanding of HSE&E legislation
- Chemical product knowledge
Interpersonal Skills:
- A strong communicator with the ability to work within a team environment
- Respects other team members across all functions and has a one team approach.
- Presents a professional image and promotes the values of the project
- Demonstrates commitment to work to processes
- Seeks to minimise waste in resources and materials
Education & Qualification
- Industry-recognised HSE qualifications
- We interested in speaking with someone from a science or chemical background who has an understanding of Hazardous and none Hazardous products and is willing to carry out assessments in detail., This would be a great opportunity to develop yourself in the H&S occupational hygiene and health space and transition yourself into future senior roles.
