Job Responsibilities:

•    Management and Leadership of all Wilson James personnel deployed on the ground in the Vehicle Control Access Points (VCAP).
•    Ensuring that all WJ personnel are clear on their individual responsibilities.
•    Attending all coordination meetings led by our Client and provide support by leading on all agenda points covering site logistics forecasting.
•    Ensuring your specific teams are being put to work correctly.
•    Provide suitable and sufficient training for all staff involved in VCAP operations.
•    Use / monitor / report on electronic vehicle booking systems (Fulcrum).
•    Ensuring procurement requirements are identified and justified.
•    Ensuring non-working Supervision (Black Hats) are monitored and briefed regularly.
•    Auditing the works and formulating methods of feedback and improvement.
•    Ensure investigations are implemented and reports are compiled following all incidents and accidents.
•    Initiate safety stand downs where appropriate.
•    Develop and maintain the KPI reporting procedure for the CLS Lead.
•    Ensure you have daily contact with all the construction managers.
•    Ensures the Logistics team have the correct incident and safety cover in place.
•    Ensure your teams have sufficient equipment and organising construction site set up.
•    Ensure compliance with the movement of material to the requested final delivery point.
•    Ensuring the correct waste and COSHH procedures are followed.
•    Produce and update RAMS, SOPS, WAFs and support documentation within the safe system of work.
•    Produce and develop resource/deployment plans.
•    Support the CLS lead
•    Provide data-based analysis to support operational improvement (Fulcrum).


Qualifications:

  • CITB (Manager & Professional Standard).
  • Driving Licence.


Experience:

  • CITB certificate (Managers and Professional Standards) - must be obtained before start date. 
  • Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) or working towards - to be obtained within initial 3 months of employment. 
  • Construction Logistics Experience as a Logistics Manager or similar role. 
  • Operational involvement with construction management. 
  • Experience in creating Organisational Structures. 
  • Ability to create and deliver strategic and operational planning. 
  • Ability to create SOP's and RAMS. 
  • Excellent communication skills written & verbal. 
  • Good competence with IT - specifically MS Office package. 
  • Ability to interact comfortably with blue and white collar.
  • Ability to produce briefs and present to the Client and SLT.
