Computer Aided Design (CAD) Technician,


As a computer aided design (CAD) Technician, you'll be responsible for producing and maintaining all engineering drawings for our projects at Hinkley Point C.

About the role 
Working closely with our Designers, you'll be constructing up initial concept and structural designs for pricing as part of the tender packs. Your role will see you amending existing design of chambers, pipelines, pit and duck systems and earthworks, following approval of field request changes.  

Day to day, you will liaise with our delivery and project teams to make sure that every drawing is accurate and up to date. This will include updating standard symbols and libraries to achieve efficiencies and to ensure that drawings comply with the high-quality standards required for our client, as laid out in the CAD manual. 

You will also provide weekly CAD updates of onsite Networks as well as look after the CAD system administration, so that drawings can be accessed quickly and easily for our teams and the client as required.

On occasions, you will survey existing assets onsite or set out.


What are the requirements? 

We'd like you to have an ONC, HNC or BTEC in a related discipline and sound technical CAD knowledge. You should have gained technical drawing skills in a water, civils or other engineering or infrastructure environment. You need to be capable of interpreting and implementing technical notes and drawing annotations, as well as general verbal or written instructions.


Software's we use include Navisworks, Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD Civils 3D, so previous experience using these software's are highly beneficial. 

This is a very busy project environment, so you must be able to work effectively to tight deadlines and be able to handle changing priorities too. On occasion, you may need to work other sites locally, so ideally you will have a full driving licence.
