As a Buyer you'll be working within the commercial team at Hinkley team, supporting the operational team with the procurement and delivery of several (Task Order) Contracts on the Hinkley Point C Project.
Your day to day will include:
• Responsible and accountable for the procurement of plant, equipment, and nuclear grade materials for the project, focusing on logistics, quality and cost operating within delegated authorities.
• The collation of live hire Plant reports. This will involve leading weekly meetings with the commercial and operations teams co-ordinating and maintaining a running weekly cost of all plant on site across the various Task Order Contracts.
• Promote Social Value through the supply chain and report to the parent company the spend on SME's with the local supply chain.
• To be accountable for the provision of management information and reports in accordance with project requirements.
• Ensure procurement fully complies with detailed quality and technical requirements as well as driving best value.
• Develop professional, robust and effective working relationships with Suppliers, Sub Contractors and Service Providers who will provide best value to the project.
• Assist the Procurement team with compiling tender packages of high value critical items for procurement including the commercial tender analysis up to and including selection using KPI scoring.
• Resolve invoice queries and liaise with other departments to ensure prompt payment of suppliers in line with our payment terms.

Requirements:
• You have demonstrable experience in a procurement role supporting the delivery of construction on a large nuclear sector related project.
• You have an understanding of the NEC suite of contracts including Target Costs.
• You have a proactive, enthusiastic, and collaborative approach.
• You have excellent communication and negotiation skills and are able to work as part of a team to deliver the project and company objectives.
• Proactively work with the team providing positive input and support with ongoing project activities and ad hoc requirements.
• IT savvy with experience using ERP systems including COINS and Microsoft applications.
