Job Responsibilities

  • The Business Analyst/Test Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting the Senior Business Architect Lead in shaping, directing, and delivering Digital & IT projects within the MEHA Programme at Hinkley Point C. This role involves close collaboration with senior stakeholders, leveraging advanced business analysis capabilities, broad operational insight, and specialist expertise to design solutions that enable a streamlined and effective business operating model. The Business Analyst/Test Manager remains actively engaged throughout the development lifecycle, overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of testing activities to ensure successful implementation and high-quality outcomes.
  • Act as the primary contact for engaging stakeholders to develop initial project concepts, define business objectives, clarify scope and impacts, and identify risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies critical to project success. 
  • Identify and align interfaces between departments and functions, integrating procedures and systems to support cross-functional collaboration. 
  • Consult with senior management and key stakeholders to capture, evaluate, challenge, and prioritise business requirements and success criteria. 
  • Collaborate with third-party delivery partners to assess and recommend solution options through structured evaluation, ensuring usability, efficiency, and alignment with business needs.
  • Develop robust project mandates and investment cases, challenging proposed benefits, quantifying intangible value, and identifying additional opportunities to maximise business outcomes. 
  • Serve as the custodian of business requirements throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with the defined solution and delivery of intended outcomes. 
  • Apply knowledge of current and emerging trends to drive continuous improvement, leveraging best practice methodologies and leading-edge technical solutions. 
  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of testing activities across the project lifecycle, including test strategy development, test case design, environment setup, and defect management. 
  • Oversee user acceptance testing (UAT), including process walkthroughs, validation of system functionality, and stakeholder sign-off to ensure solutions meet business expectations. 
  • Ensure adherence to core delivery assurance principles, including quality standards, governance frameworks, and risk controls.

 

Qualifications

Relevant qualifications and experience in one or more of the Business Architecture disciplines of process management, business analysis, data and management information or IT system development.

 

Experience

  • In depth knowledge of business process analysis and design techniques, including the use of modelling and collaborative tools. 
  • Strong workshop facilitation and interview skills, including negotiation, influence, mediation, and conflict management skills. 
  • Experience of developing business cases for large complex business change programmes, including financial and numerical modelling and appraisal skills  
  • Experience in planning, co-ordinating and documenting solution testing 
  • Experience in User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Experience of formal project management techniques, such as Prince2, APMP, plus associated tools and processes, including planning and estimating. 
  • Prior experience working in Nuclear, asset intensive and/or Safety Critical industries.
