Opportunity for a Black Hat Electrical or Mechanical working with Framatome on the Hinkley Point C Project


The Black Hat Supervisor will support and supervise Framatome projects of Temporary Buildings or Structures erection on HPC site (subcontracted projects).  As a "Black Hat" (non-working supervisor), manage all Health & Safety aspects of Installation activities on site Risk Assessments/Point of Work Risk Assessments review, Toolbox Talks, on site supervision ensuring that all company policies are adhered to.


Main Duties : 

 

  • Provide technical advice and propose technical solutions where required
  • Review and approve technical & safety documentation
  • Be involved in technical and planning discussions with Framatome's client (HPC Principal Contractor)
  • Ensure installation of works is as per design and process
  • Deliver works on time and within parameters of the budget set for the task.
  • Supervise contracted staff
  • Prepare site reports and fill in needed documentation
  • Manage and ensure compliance of the NNB permit to work processes
  • Attend coordination meetings with the HPC Principal Contractor and their other tier 1 contractors
  • Act as and Incident Controller (IC)
  • Act as Trauma and Medical Immediate Care (TMIC)


Qualifications/Experience : 


Black Hat Electrical 

 

  • Level 3 Installation Electrician Apprenticeship Standard (ST0152) 
  • AM2 or FICA
  • City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing or Level 3 EAL 4337 Initial Verification
  • ILM Level 3 Certificate C&BE plus completion of Nuclear Unit (this must be enrolled on if successfully appointed to the role)
  • LATS, or SMTS or IOSH Managing Safety


Black Hat Mechanical

 

  • Level 3 Apprenticeship in one of the below: 
  • Engineering Construction - Pipefitting Standard or Mechanical or Plating
  • Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician
  • Engineering Fitter
  • Metal Fabricator
  • Project Controls Technician
  • or 
  • ACE Card demonstrating Level 3 Diploma in any of the following disciplines:
    • Pipefitting, - Mechanical, - Plating, - Metal Fabricator, - Mechanical / Engineering Fitter 
    • Level 3 Certificate in Heating and Ventilation Installation 
    • Level 3 Diploma in Installing Engineering Construction Plant and Systems (Pipefitting) 
    • Level 3 Diploma in Installing and Commissioning Machinery and Equipment
    • Indian Diploma in Mechanical Engineering 
    • Indian Fitter Trade Test 
    • Turkish Mechanical Engineering Degree 
    • Turkish Machine Engineering Degree
  • ILM Level 3 Certificate C&BE plus completion of Nuclear Unit (this must be enrolled on if successfully appointed to the role)
  • LATS, or SMTS or IOSH Managing Safety
  • CCNSG
  • TMIC trained (First Aid at Work trained)
  • IC trained
