Basic Scaffolder

Main Responsibilities 

 

➢     Follow established job-site safety and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work area. Check worksites for hazards 
➢     To be able to read and interpret blueprints and specifications to determine the type, size, and location of scaffolding needed for a particular job 
➢     Load / Unload scaffolding materials from/to trucks 
➢     To use various tools and equipment to assemble and dismantle scaffolding structures, ensuring that they are safe and stable 
➢     To install safety systems, such as guardrails, safety nets, and personal protective equipment, to ensure the safety of workers who use the scaffolding 
➢     Fit steel tubes and support braces together to form the scaffolding framework 
➢     Lay wooden boards (sole plates) on the ground to spread the weight of the scaffolding 
➢     Fasten ladders and guard rails to scaffolding 
➢     To inspect and maintain scaffolding equipment to ensure that it is in good working condition and free from defects or damage 
➢     Regularly inspect erected scaffolding for safety 
➢     To assist other departments if needed 
➢     Shall ensure that a "zero harm" approach is taken in relation to all his acts and omissions in relation to the services and the project. Acknowledges that due to the nature of the project, nuclear safety and security are of paramount importance. 
➢     Agrees to comply with any rule, instruction or requirement of the Company in relation to the services which the company determines, in his sole and absolute discretion, is necessary in order for the company to comply with his obligations under the nuclear site license. 
➢     Housekeeping of the work areas; collection, segregation and disposal of wastes as required; removal of unused materials and clear the work floors to eliminate/reduce slipping or tripping risks in your work area. 
➢     Safe use, protection, storage and care of general maintenance products, hand and power tools 

 

You must: 
 
➢    Take care of your own health and safety and that of people who may be affected by what you do (or do not do);  
➢    Co-operate with others on health and safety, and not interfere with, or misuse, anything provided for your health, safety or welfare;  
➢    Follow the training you have received when using any work items your employer has given you.

 

 

Qualifications


➢     CISRS Part 2 
➢     NVQ Level 2  
➢     Can achieve Security Clearance (BPSS) 
➢     Hold CCNSG Safety Passport  
➢     Shall be able to pass Safety Critical Medical test. 

 

Desirable 

 

➢ SSSTS Certification 
➢ Layher Endorsement on CISRS Card 
➢ MEWP (Mobile Elevated Working Platform)

 


Experience

 

➢ Minimum 5 years of experience in large scale, international - industrial projects in scaffolding systems.
