The G4S Associated Development (AD) Security Lead at Hinkley Point C (HPC) is responsible for supporting all security operations across the HPC warehouse network, storage facilities, and wider AD locations.
This role provides essential operational security oversight, ensuring that all logistics sites maintain compliance with HPC security standards and G4S protocols.
The postholder will work closely with, and provide direct support to, the HPC Logistics Security Manager on all security-related matters. This includes assisting with incident responses, procedural enforcement, access control oversight, asset protection measures, and ongoing risk mitigation across logistics environments.
The AD Security Lead will also deliver operational resilience for the logistics security management function, stepping in to maintain continuity of leadership and ensuring consistent security coverage during periods of high demand, absence, or critical events.
Pay : £25.08 per hour (£58,848.36 per annum, hourly paid)
Weekly Hours : 45 hours per week - office hours but flexibility is required as you may need to work early/late, including nights and weekends to support the project
Key Responsibilities
The AD Security Lead will assist the Contract Partner’s by:
▪ Forging relationships and influencing behaviours on all security related matters for all locations.
▪ Identifying any vulnerabilities within their present security arrangements and producing security recommendations to mitigate against any adversarial intrusion/interference.
▪ Drive forward a positive security culture.
▪ Maintain close communications with the HPC Logistics Security Manager and the wider HPC logistics and security management.
▪ Educate non-security professionals on specific threats to their assets and how to identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities.
▪ Develop a positive security culture within the T1 Contracted Partners and mentor those with a key role in mitigating adversarial risk across all locations.
▪ Advise the T1 Contracted partners the HPC SMR Methodology, the HPC site Security Risk Assessment Tool and HPC Site Generic Adversarial Threat Assessment Matrix.
▪ Engage and collaborate with the Crime Reduction Coordinator (CRC) to ensure that the best security practices are identified and adopted for the protection of HPC assets
▪ The AD Security Lead will conduct security assurance activities on the associated T1 contractors to ensure that the security arrangements described within the Contract Partner’s Security Plan (SMP) are being adhered to.
▪ The AD Security Lead will be responsible for the oversight and management of the physical security operations at all the Associated Development locations including but not limited to numerous Park and Rides and other AD office locations.
Skills and Competencies
The AD Security Lead must have:
▪ Excellent written skills.
o Produce detailed documents including but not limited to SVAs, ORs, SMPs and Security Instructions for the protection of HPC assets.
▪ Excellent Communication skills.
o Be able to deliver security briefings/presentations to HPC Contracted Partners.
▪ Good IT skills.
▪ Strong Leadership.
▪ Strong planning and organisational skills.
The AD Security Lead must be able to:
▪ Operate within a close-knit team.
▪ Operate in a diverse and challenging environment.
▪ Adopt an innovative approach.
Educational Requirements/Qualifications
▪ L4 Security Risk Management (preferred but not essential).
▪ Level 2 Award for Working as a Door Supervisor or Security Officer within the Private Security Industry or higher.
Preferred Experience
▪ A security professional with prior experience of large scale Critical National Infrastructure projects.
▪ A security professional with a Police or Military environment.
▪ Experience and understanding of Project Management.
▪ Thorough understanding of H&S requirements.
▪ Previous experience of working within an ISO 9001 Quality Management System (preferred but not essential).
