The Opportunity

 

We are seeking a highly motivated Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support the successful delivery of major contracts through their full life cycle. Reporting directly to the Project Manager, you will take a leading role in coordinating engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, and handover activities, ensuring alignment with the overall project schedule and objectives.


You will collaborate closely with the Project Manager to maintain a sharp focus on safety, quality, time, and cost parameters, driving efficiency and excellence in project execution.

Alongside a salary between £35,000 - £45,000, depending on experience, and a market-leading pension scheme, your package will include a range of benefits, from the big and formal to the small and personal.

What you’ll be doing

 

You will provide clear leadership and coordination for all activities involved in the full life cycle delivery of assigned major contracts. Reporting directly to the Project Manager (PM), you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, and handover tasks, ensuring they align with the overall project schedule.
Working in close collaboration with the Project Manager, as the Assistant Project Manager, you will ensure all planning and execution adhere to established safety, quality, time, and cost requirements, supporting the successful completion of the project.


Who you are

 

  • You will hold a degree or equivalent qualification in engineering, construction, or a related field, with a focus in either Mechanical, Electrical, or HVAC disciplines. Have strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, as the role involves interacting effectively with senior management and delivering clear information.
  • We are looking for someone with strong people management abilities, capable of building relationships, influencing stakeholders, and working collaboratively within complex, multidisciplinary teams, at all levels. Additionally, you should demonstrate excellent analytical skills, including the ability to perform budget analysis and forecasting, and be proficient in Microsoft Office packages.
