Opportunity for an Assistant Project EHS Advisor working with Exyte Hargreaves on the Hinkley Point C project,

The Role 

 

  • Maintain injury free workplaces where everybody goes home safely 
  • Work closely with the site SHEQ Lead to Ensure safe working in all company workplaces without harm to people, property or the environment 
  • Ensure the continuous Improvement of health, safety & environment 
  • Drive a culture of safety throughout the business and sites. 


Key Accountabilities

 

  • Implement company 'Core Values' 
  • Monitoring site EHS performance against defined goals and, where appropriate develop and implement corrective measures.
  • Leading by example by promoting, coaching and encouraging others to adopt positive EHS behaviours.
  • Actively encourage implementation of company 'Best Practice / Best Known Methods' 
  • Respond to any queries that come through to the EHS team. 
  • Champion Health & Safety systems, activities and initiatives Assist in the communication of standards and procedures. 
  • Support company, client and legislative EHS requirements.
  • Compilation and analysis of EHS statistics.
  • Administer site observation system, identifying trends, closing out actions and feeding back to observers.
  • Assist with investigations into any quality, health, or safety incidents where required. 
  • Working with the team to support the risk assessment process of site activities and identify improvements
  • Maintain and safeguard all required statutory records and reports 
  • Attend EHS committee and other project meetings, as necessary 
  • Work closely with the rest of the project team, including designers, construction management, commercial and site installation teams
  • Various other duties as required to support project / company objectives


Qualifications/Experience : 

 

  • NEBOSH General or Construction H&S Certificate are preferred
  • Construction Skills Certification Scheme card holder (CSCS)
  • Knowledge of UK health, safety and environmental legislation, CDM Regulations. 
  • Computer literate, as minimum Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint
  • Experience working in a health and safety team in a construction environment would be preferred but not essential
