Working Hours: Permanent, Full Time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 8am and 5pm


Location: Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater


Salary: £50,280PA

 

G4S Facilities Management are recruiting for an Appliance Engineer on a full-time, permanent basis based at our site in Bridgwater.

 

The Appliance Engineer will be in a predominately static role with occasional mobile requirements to diagnose, service and repair white goods appliances including dishwashers, washing machines, microwaves, fridge's and other domestic/commercial appliances. A fully qualified and experienced Engineer with electrical and mechanical knowledge is essential either in Plumbing, HVAC or Electrical

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Operate planned maintenance procedures for white goods appliances (e.g., washing machines, dishwashers, fridges) effectively and safely within their range of qualifications, training, and experience.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults on white goods and rectifying where within competence.
  • Carry out necessary repairs to restore appliances, ensuring adherence to health and safety standards.
  • Write up reports and technical procedures for all service and repair activities.
  • Assist in the training and development of junior engineers and technical staff.
  • Maintain inspection and repair work to ensure optimal functioning of various types of appliances.
  • Follow detailed technical manuals and drawings to carry out planned maintenance and repairs
  • Work with cross-skilled teams to cover various aspects of maintenance activities.
  • Participate in emergency call-out arrangements for urgent repairs of white goods.


Essential Criteria:

 

  • A formal qualification in domestic and/or commercial appliance repair.
  • Experience in diagnosing and repairing white goods (e.g., dishwashers, fridges, microwaves).
  • Strong understanding of both mechanical components and electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards for electrical and mechanical safety in appliances.
  • Full, clean driving license.


Desirable Criteria:

 

  • Level 3 Award in the In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment (C&G 2377).
  • F-Gas (Category 1) | City & Guilds 2079-11 (FCAT1) 18th edition wiring regulations
