Key tasks & skills of the role:

  •      Responsible for adhering to all project standards and safety rules incl. Temporary Works Flow Charts and procedures.
  •      Responsible for complying with time keeping systems in place and adhering to authorised break times.   Make adequate provision for the safety of themself, the work force, the public affected by scaffolding work and any future users of the scaffold structure by working to the relevant British and European standards, NASC guidelines and Statutory Regulations.
  •      Determine the materials required for drop scaffolding off steelwork. Lay out materials. Set out and erect drop scaffolding off steelwork. Dismande a tubular hanging scaffold.
  •      Erect cantilever scaffolds applying appropriate weights with due regard to the safety measures required to prevent overturning.
  •      Determine the materials required for dead shores. Lay out materials. Provide a means of access. Setout and erect dead shores. Dismande shores and where applicable the means of access.
  •      Determine the material requirement for Temporary Roof scaffolds in accordance with drawings and specifications. Lay out materials. Set out and erect Temporary Roof scaffolds including levelling to reasonable tolerance. Dismantle Temporary Roof scaffolds.
  •      Determine the material requirement for staircases and ramps in accordance with drawings and specifications. Lay out materials. Set out and erect staircase/ramp. Dismantle staircase/ramp.
  •      Read and interpretcomplex scaffold drawings and erect scaffolds from those drawings and specifications in respect of the following examples.
  •      Tubular drop scaffolds from steelwork    Stairways o Cantilever drop scaffold    Ramps.
  •      Two-way shore/dead shore Temporary Roof scaffold   Interpret and work to risk assessments and method statements.
  •      As a member of a team, dismande the scaffolds safely and in their correct sequence.
  •      Organise men and materials to lead a gang carrying out advanced scaffold operations where required.


Qualifications:

  •      CISRS Advanced Scaffolder Card
  •      Other certificates of competence.


Requirements:

  •      CISRS Advanced Scaffolder Card
  •      1 + year scaffolder card experience preferred in the relevant construction/building environment


Behavioural Competencies:

  •      Analytical thinking; Organisation; Customer focus; Team player.
