Nuclear Components Engineer


Gloucester Business Park. Hybrid with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office.

The Opportunity…


We are looking for Mechanical, Chemical, or Process Engineers to join our nuclear energy business working as part of the Mechanical Components Branch, based in Gloucester, with occasional opportunities for foreign travel.


You will take up the responsibility of leading on delivery of equipment contracts to support our client licensee requirements and underpin Nuclear Safety.  The role will also require you to support more junior members of the team. 


This is an exciting time to join the team as the Hinkley Point C Project is moving into the key mechanical & electrical erection phase and work is progressing on securing the Sizewell C Project to help Britain achieve #CarbonNetZero.

Who you are…


Degree qualified Mechanical, Chemical or Process Engineer with industrial experience of the design, manufacture or operation of fluid system equipment such as pumps, valves, heat exchangers, compressors etc.


In the absence of direct experience, you would have transferrable skills providing engineering support to the procurement, delivery and or installation of equipment/machinery in a highly regulated industry such as Nuclear, Oil and Gas or Aerospace.


It would be great if you also have:

 

  • Project experience on process, cooling or reactor systems.
  • Experience of design/manufacture of rotating equipment, pumps, compressors, motors.
  • Direct Nuclear Experience, particularly justification of design modifications/safety case authorship.
  • Experience on design work, site-based operations, construction, or commissioning.
  • Experience of working in a heavily regulated project environment.
