We're looking for a Digital Engineer to join our Main Civil Works (MCW) Lifting and Logistics team, helping to shape the digital delivery of one of our major infrastructure projects. In this role, you'll use your digital engineering and modelling expertise to create data-driven solutions that support key preconstruction and delivery activities. From developing and managing 3D and 4D models in Navisworks Manage to visualising lifting strategies for heavy lift, tower crane, and precast operations, you'll play a crucial part in bringing complex plans to life. You'll also help drive innovation by embedding digital standards, methods, and procedures that ensure efficient, accurate, and high-quality information throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

- Work with the Lifting and Logistics team to develop and maintain the project lifting model (NWD), managing around 100 crane positions and arrangements to support buildability and lifting strategy development.
- Lead updates to the model throughout the project lifecycle, including a full refresh following tender award in March 2026 as supplier crane data is confirmed.
- Carry out 3D and 4D modelling activities to support on-site coordination, focusing on spatial coordination, temporary works, site access, and time-sequenced construction planning.
- Prepare and publish high-quality graphical and non-graphical outputs for review, ensuring all digital deliverables meet project and client standards.
- Support the development and management of the Project Information Model (PIM) through design and construction, promoting consistent digital workflows and best practices.
- Provide guidance and training to project teams and supply chain partners on using and developing 3D and 4D models.
- Drive the implementation of digital processes, culture, and technology to improve project delivery, including integration of 4D (time), 5D (cost), and 6D (asset data) models.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, helping optimise digital coordination, site management techniques, and the use of mobile technology.

Requirements:

-Actively pursuing professional or technical qualifications; a valid CSCS card is advantageous.
-Typically NVQ Level 3 or equivalent with 3-5 years' relevant experience.
- Experience using 3D and 4D modelling software in construction (e.g., Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Revit, Tekla Structures, Synchro).
- Skilled in model authoring, federation, and quality checking, including clash detection, data management, and schedule extraction.
-Familiar with design review processes, 3D issue management, and COBie asset data requirements.
- Ability to deliver graphical and non-graphical outputs in line with BIM Execution Plans and project standards.
-Experience working in Common Data Environments (CDEs) and collaboratively with project teams and supply chains.
- Strong understanding of UK BIM Level 2, ISO 19650, and digital information management.
- Effective communicator with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and digital engineering tools; 4D/5D modelling experience beneficial.
- Enthusiastic about digital innovation and upskilling, supporting teams in adopting digital tools.

For this role you must have evidence of right to work in the UK. As a project, we do not discriminate on the grounds of age, gender, race, colour, religion, disability or sexual orientation, and we welcome applications from all sections of the community.

Why Join Us?

For more than 60 years, nuclear power stations in the UK have been quietly keeping Britain fuelled with massive amounts of home-grown energy.

Our teams up and down the country are proudly continuing to serve the nation – but they also have an eye on the future.

EDF is leading the UK's nuclear renaissance with the construction of a new nuclear power station at Hinkley Point C and plans for a new power station at Sizewell C in Suffolk.

Nuclear power is the most reliable, low-carbon energy source currently available to the UK. EDF is playing a key role in the development of nuclear sites, while Hinkley Point C will provide low-carbon electricity to meet 7% of the UK demand. The project is already making a positive impact on the local and national economy as well as boosting skills and education.

We’re not just building new nuclear power stations. We’re developing careers, upskilling generations and creating thousands of employment and apprenticeship opportunities across a variety of skills areas.

It takes a special kind of person to work in the nuclear energy industry and although we have thousands of them there’s always a need for more.

Our industry has a mind-boggling range of opportunities and more jobs, and in more places, than you might think. But it’s also an industry which is changing.

We’re a responsible business and proud to be Britain’s biggest generator of zero carbon electricity. With size, age and experience, we believe we can do even more.
