Communications Manager (Sizewell C)
Civil Works Alliance
Sizewell C

We are recruiting for a pivotal role within the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), where we are at the heart of building the future of the UK's energy infrastructure. As part of the CWA, you will contribute to the delivery of Sizewell C-a landmark 3.2-gigawatt power station providing clean, reliable electricity to approximately six million homes, and underpinning our country's low-carbon future for at least the next 60 years.

As our CWA Communications Manager, you will be central in ensuring our internal communications are impactful, engaging and closely aligned with our core values and behaviour expectations. You will play a key role in shaping how our people connect and collaborate, building trusted relationships both within the CWA and with the Sizewell C comms team on site.

What you'll be doing:

•    Raising and maintaining the profile of the CWA on site, promoting our values and behaviour expectations at every opportunity
•    Sourcing engaging content and preparing regular staff briefings to keep our teams well-informed and connected
•    Managing content creation and distribution across all our internal communications channels, ensuring messaging is timely and consistent
•    Providing expert guidance and support to communications colleagues, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment
•    Liaising with the communications teams at Sizewell C and alliance partners to strengthen cross-team relationships and ensure a joined-up approach
•    Working closely with project delivery and support teams to disseminate key information across the site effectively
•    Preparing and editing tailored content to suit a variety of audiences across the project
•    Supporting a broad range of communications activities, including external communications, crisis communications, digital comms, social media, and branding initiatives

What we are looking for:

•    Significant experience in communications, ideally gained in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where managing competing priorities is second nature
•    Proven experience managing on-site communications for a major construction or infrastructure project
•    Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a sharp eye for detail
•    Ability to work calmly and accurately to strict deadlines
•    Strong team player, capable of collaborating effectively across departments and with external partners

This is an exciting opportunity for a communications professional who is passionate about supporting critical national infrastructure and wants to be part of a diverse, ambitious team making a tangible impact on the UK's energy future.

Why Join Us?

For more than 60 years, nuclear power stations in the UK have been quietly keeping Britain fuelled with massive amounts of home-grown energy.

Our teams up and down the country are proudly continuing to serve the nation – but they also have an eye on the future.

EDF is leading the UK's nuclear renaissance with the construction of a new nuclear power station at Hinkley Point C and plans for a new power station at Sizewell C in Suffolk.

Nuclear power is the most reliable, low-carbon energy source currently available to the UK. EDF is playing a key role in the development of nuclear sites, while Hinkley Point C will provide low-carbon electricity to meet 7% of the UK demand. The project is already making a positive impact on the local and national economy as well as boosting skills and education.

We’re not just building new nuclear power stations. We’re developing careers, upskilling generations and creating thousands of employment and apprenticeship opportunities across a variety of skills areas.

It takes a special kind of person to work in the nuclear energy industry and although we have thousands of them there’s always a need for more.

Our industry has a mind-boggling range of opportunities and more jobs, and in more places, than you might think. But it’s also an industry which is changing.

We’re a responsible business and proud to be Britain’s biggest generator of zero carbon electricity. With size, age and experience, we believe we can do even more.
