Do you enjoy owning the full end to end procurement cycle, building influential supplier relationships, and driving value on major engineering packages? If yes, this is your opportunity to make a real impact on the Sizewell C project.

About the role:

As a Buyer within the Geotechnical Sub Alliance (GSA), you'll play a vital role in supporting the construction of the Sizewell C Nuclear Power Station. Working at the heart of a collaborative alliance, you'll help secure the materials, equipment, and services that enable complex geotechnical works such as piling, soil stabilisation, diaphragm walls and more.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to grow their procurement career while contributing to one of the UK's most important sustainable energy projects.

Key Responsibilities

You'll take ownership of end to end procurement, including:
•    Early supplier engagement to influence sourcing strategies from the outset.
•    Running market research, RFIs, RFQs and ITTs using the Jaggaer e procurement portal.
•    Conducting tender analysis and recommending the best-value award decisions based on total cost of ownership.

•    Managing supplier performance and driving continuous improvement across key categories.
•    Raising and managing Purchase Orders, ensuring compliance with governance and quality standards.
•    Monitoring supply markets to identify risks, opportunities, and innovative solutions.
•    Supporting sustainability, ED&I, Zero Harm, and environmental objectives within the supply chain.
•    Building strong cross-functional relationships to support project delivery and business outcomes.

Qualifications

•    CIPS qualification or be keen to develop professionally (advantageous).

Experience

This is a hands-on, operational role in a fast paced environment with short lead times, so we are looking for someone who thrives in a dynamic, demanding setting.

We are seeking a credible, proactive individual with strong influencing skills and someone who can deliver a responsive, value adding service.

To be successful in this role you will have:

•    A solid understanding of customer needs and operational efficiency.
•    Solid experience across the full procurement lifecycle, from sourcing through to contract and supplier management.
•    Strong analytical skills and confidence reviewing quotes and commercial data.
•    Ability to juggle competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
•    A proactive mindset, ability to spot improvements and bring ideas to the table.
•    Knowledge of construction or civils markets (desirable).
•    Experience with SAP or Jaggaer (advantageous).

For this role you must have evidence of right to work in the UK. As a project, we do not discriminate on the grounds of age, gender, race, colour, religion, disability or sexual orientation, and we welcome applications from all sections of the community.

Why Join Us?

For more than 60 years, nuclear power stations in the UK have been quietly keeping Britain fuelled with massive amounts of home-grown energy.

Our teams up and down the country are proudly continuing to serve the nation – but they also have an eye on the future.

EDF is leading the UK's nuclear renaissance with the construction of a new nuclear power station at Hinkley Point C and plans for a new power station at Sizewell C in Suffolk.

Nuclear power is the most reliable, low-carbon energy source currently available to the UK. EDF is playing a key role in the development of nuclear sites, while Hinkley Point C will provide low-carbon electricity to meet 7% of the UK demand. The project is already making a positive impact on the local and national economy as well as boosting skills and education.

We’re not just building new nuclear power stations. We’re developing careers, upskilling generations and creating thousands of employment and apprenticeship opportunities across a variety of skills areas.

It takes a special kind of person to work in the nuclear energy industry and although we have thousands of them there’s always a need for more.

Our industry has a mind-boggling range of opportunities and more jobs, and in more places, than you might think. But it’s also an industry which is changing.

We’re a responsible business and proud to be Britain’s biggest generator of zero carbon electricity. With size, age and experience, we believe we can do even more.
