We are looking for a Business Operations Manager to continue the ongoing development of this provision, deliver a world class customer experience and deliver the College Group priorities for this exceptional investment.
As the Business Operations Manager, you will drive and represent the success of the department and its impact nationally & regionally, delivering high quality, responsive skills solutions to the sector. Working as integral part of the department management team, you will demonstrate your management skills in an exciting, dynamic environment, ensuring the whole department operates effectively for candidates and employers whilst working with immediate colleagues and those across the College Group.
Job Responsibilities
Development & delivery of an outstanding customer experience, driving high standards and improvements where needed. Customers include candidates, employers stakeholders, visitors and cross-college departments and colleagues.
Delivery of all relevant income and contribution targets.
Ownership and delivery of priorities, including stakeholder management, financial management, profile & reputational management, delivery & supply chain partnerships, employer relationships and new business and programme development.
Lead and line manage commercial income generation and front of house teams.
Management of budgets, purchasing and cost control.
Liaison with other College departments and colleagues to ensure the department is embedded as part of the wider FE institution.
Implement and enforce our written Health & Safety arrangements and expectations for all training programmes, visitors and activities across our site.
Lead on the data management processes for all programmes.
Develop and manage key processes that maximise commercial employer responsive income align to the appropriate College Group systems and processes.
Management of all finance-related processes.
Complete all appraisals in your scope of responsibility annually and monitor the effective actions and CPD plans.
Develop and maintain Marketing Plan aligned to department and College Group objectives.
Lead on resolution of customer complaints.
Ensure all quality, audit and qualification requirements for qualifications offered are embedded into our programmes and teams, and external audits, inspections and requirements are managed effectively resulting in positive outcomes at audit.
Motivate and develop your staff through effective line management, identifying development opportunities and working to our HR processes.
Lead and work co-operatively with the rest of the team, fostering good working relationships with colleagues within the department and the wider College Group.
Trouble shoot day-to-day department challenges, anticipate and resolve issues quickly and mitigate reputational risks through effective planning and management processes.
Build the necessary delivery capacity for all provision through recruitment and engagement with external consultants/trainers/assessor etc.
Carry out observations of teaching/training staff and identify and implement plans for improvement where required.
Contribute to departmental training and development plans to meet organisational and individual needs.
Ensure that all learners are enrolled and registered on the correct qualification aim to support timely success.
Utilise a range of performance management strategies to support staff in performing in their roles successfully and effectively.
Ensure efficient staff deployment and effective use of resources.
Manage new business and curriculum development.
Promote the safe and efficient use of digital and mobile technologies to support learners and the training team.
Support/attend & co-ordinate staffing and resources for College Group open evenings and department profile raising events, as necessary.
Take a positive approach to celebrate success and reward staff where possible.
Be a member of CMT and fulfil duties as a member of CMT.
Carry out campus Duty Manager duties on a rota basis.
Complete any administration tasks associated with position in a timely manner.
Attend, participate and where required, lead regular team meetings and initiating meetings as required.
Report concerns about quality and safeguarding through appropriate channels.
Attend CPD events and programmes as appropriate.
