Equipment Integration Lead


Location: Aztec West. Flexible home and office working supported.
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 dependent on experience, plus benefits
Employment type: Permanent/ Full Time 


Join EDF as an Equipment Integration Lead, and you’ll join one of the most exciting and challenging projects within EDF, as we continue to lead the rebirth of nuclear in the UK.


At Hinkley Point C (HPC) we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes.


We are currently looking to recruit an Equipment Integration Lead who will act as the architect for the Equipment scope which is part of the Responsible Designer organisation (embedded in Edvance UK).


In this role you will be responsible for the design intent and configuration management for all of the equipment scope to be delivered by Edvance UK in relation to HPC project milestones.

What you’ll be doing…


The Equipment Integration Lead reports to the Equipment Engineering Manager within the Edvance Integrated Team Bristol (ITB), the main activities of the role are as follows:

 

  • Acting as the design architect for all the equipment within ITB’s scope and ensuring it is integrated with HPC’s systems, structures and components.
  • Overseeing the progress and maturity of design, including consideration of design margins.
  • Accountability for the approval of changes to the equipment design and impacts on the project schedule and cost.
  • Ensuring the adherence to the datacentric and change management processes for monitoring of compliance with equipment requirements change implementation.
  • Managing interfaces between the different design disciplines (Civil, Piping, Electrical, HVAC, Systems, Contracts,…) as well as external suppliers.
  • Acting as main point of contact with Joint Design Office (JDO) on HPC site to ensure site change is well managed.
  • Leading equipment inputs to technical issues resolution in particular for issues which are transverse to multiple contracts (including non-conformances).
  • Reporting progress to the Edvance UK management and the client (HPC Project).
  • Acting as the technical deputy to the Equipment Engineering Manager.
  • Providing reports and escalations to senior management on Equipment scope area.

  • Experience of working in large teams and complex environments.
  • Pragmatic solution focused approach towards resolving technical issues.
  • Ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to set, achieve and maintain high standards of safety and quality.
  • Fluent English.
  • Engineering degree or equivalent
  • Knowledge and experience of the EPR design
  • Management experience
  • Ability to communicate in French
