As our next Configuration Team Lead, specialising in Configuration Status Accounting (CSA) within Turnkey Contracts, your main responsibility is to build the understanding and capability of the configuration management of the Turnkey supplier scope of works. You will work with the wider HPC Plant Configuration Team and HPC suppliers to create a proportionate approach to configuration surveillance and build a small team to implement this plan.

Your role is crucial in maintaining adherence to procedures and safety rules, ensuring the team's operations meet the highest standards.

In addition to a salary of £64,232 depending on experience, we offer flexible benefits that support our employees’ physical, emotional, and financial wellbeing. Examples include: a market-leading company pension scheme, a bonus plan, health cover, electric vehicle leasing, mental health support and employee discounts.
We’re talking about everything from enhanced parental leave to electric vehicle leasing, health insurance to product discounts, critical illness insurance to technology vouchers, gym membership to season ticket loans.

At EDF UK, we embrace flexibility while recognising that everyone's working needs are different. Here, we do right by each other and everyone’s welcome. We’re on an action-oriented journey, championing equity, diversity, and inclusion. We’d like our future workforce to have an equal gender balance, represent a broad mix of people from minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+, those with a disability and supporting social mobility.

We’re a disability confident employer and we’ll do all we can to help with your application. Please let us know if you need to request reasonable adjustments.

We take pride in fostering a dynamic and inclusive environment, where the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our employees drive fresh thinking and innovation. We understand that success means different things to different people. We believe there are multiple definitions of what it means to succeed. That’s why we support you to pursue a career that’s unique to you. Because success is personal.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • In this role, you’ll lead and coordinate the Turnkey CSA team to deliver engineering support for the HPC Project within the HPC Technical Directorate. Your mission is to ensure the HPC design not only meets the highest professional standards but also fully complies with UK regulations and context.
  • You will formulate the Turnkey CSA oversight and surveillance principles, working with multiple programmes across HPC, then refine this to each specific contract, collaborating with each supplier to understand their configuration management processes and complementing them with HPC requirements. You will build a team to deliver the oversight and surveillance activities as noted above.
  • As the primary contact within HPC for Turnkey contract configuration topics, you will serve as the technical liaison for Engineering Managers and Design Entities on configuration management topics. You will lead the team in executing all activities with strict adherence to site license requirements, statutory regulations, company and local directives, procedures, and safety rules. Additionally, you will ensure team members are regularly appraised, trained, and developed to meet evolving business needs and oversee the maintenance and accuracy of the Plant Configuration Registers and List of Applicable Documents across all Turnkey contracts.

Who You Are

  • To excel in this role, we’re looking for you to have a solid understanding of analysis tools and methods and know how to apply them effectively. Experience in process development is key, along with a good grasp of quality arrangements. You’ll need to be proactive in resolving Configuration Management issues, analysing data, and highlighting relevant concerns. Your ability to extract and compile data from various sources, maintain accurate and timely records, and identify opportunities for improving procedures, processes, and systems will be essential to your success in this role.
  • A degree in a relevant science or engineering field, or a strong technical background, is preferred. HPC context and understanding is desirable. ICM CM2 certification or an equivalent qualification or experience is highly desirable. Experience in managing engineering documentation, including Redline Drawings and Work Pack management, is also important. Why Join Us?

For more than 60 years, nuclear power stations in the UK have been quietly keeping Britain fuelled with massive amounts of home-grown energy.

Our teams up and down the country are proudly continuing to serve the nation – but they also have an eye on the future.

EDF is leading the UK's nuclear renaissance with the construction of a new nuclear power station at Hinkley Point C and plans for a new power station at Sizewell C in Suffolk.

Nuclear power is the most reliable, low-carbon energy source currently available to the UK. EDF is playing a key role in the development of nuclear sites, while Hinkley Point C will provide low-carbon electricity to meet 7% of the UK demand. The project is already making a positive impact on the local and national economy as well as boosting skills and education.

We’re not just building new nuclear power stations. We’re developing careers, upskilling generations and creating thousands of employment and apprenticeship opportunities across a variety of skills areas.

It takes a special kind of person to work in the nuclear energy industry and although we have thousands of them there’s always a need for more.

Our industry has a mind-boggling range of opportunities and more jobs, and in more places, than you might think. But it’s also an industry which is changing.

We’re a responsible business and proud to be Britain’s biggest generator of zero carbon electricity. With size, age and experience, we believe we can do even more.
