Opportunity for a Welding Inspector working with Bilfinger on the Hinkley Point C Project


Main Duties:

 

  • Reporting to Senior Welding Engineer, primarily responsible for coordination of WPQR's, which includes test pieces procurement & machining, technique development, PWHT & Mechanical testing;
  • Assisting in the compilation pWPS's,
  • Assisting in the Technical Reviews
  • Assisting in performance of repair investigations
  • Assisting in the compilation of WPS'and Welding Data Packages.
  • Assisting in the review and acceptance of filler metal certificates.
  • Assisting in the compilation of welding related process procedures.
  • Subcontractor review of Post Weld Heat Treatment procedures
  • Assisting review of subcontractor procedures
  • Assisting in the suitability of welding equipment
  • Assisting with the preparation of Weld repair methodologies
  • Researching and implementing new technology/welding processes to aid in improving production.
  • Providing technical input to the welding team. 
  • Coordination of Production test coupons
  • Coordination of welder qualification and site tests.
  • Management and validation of welder qualification certificates
  • Involved in the evaluation of metal and problem solving techniques to overcome issues with the design drawings or work pack requirements.
  • Completes any other duties as assigned by the Senior Welding Engineer.
  • Preparation of Weld cards


Qualifications/Experience : 

 

  • CCNSG required
  • Nuclear experience desirable, but not essential
  • Site experience desirable, but not essential
