Job Description


We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated intern to join our Quantity Surveying team at Hinkley Point C (HPC) on a 2 year Fixed Term Contract. As a Quantity Surveying intern, you will be based on-site at HPC, supporting the Site Contract Manager (SCM) with daily activities. Within the role you will


Assist with cost estimates, budgets, and progress reports
Reviewing and processing subcontractor claims and payments
Helping with site measurements and valuations
Monitoring project costs and progress against budgets
Coordinating with internal teams, subcontractors, and external partners


This role offers hands-on experience on real-world projects, while helping you develop valuable professional skills under the guidance of experienced mentors.


Main Responsibilities:


Prepare Bill of Quantities (BoQ) (item definition, measurement rules, etc.) from from technical documents and drawings, including preparation and re-measurement;
Ensuring detailed and transparent records and documentation are maintained to support claims, and to provide feedback from executed projects for continuous improvement
Ensuring Quantity Surveying activities on site are performed to Arabelle Solutions standards.
Assist in monitoring progress quantities as per approved MTS and STS
Assist in any variation and other claims related to partner / subcontractor unit rate progress.
Ensure documentation is correctly filed as detailed in project and procedures
Produce inputs to project reporting(s) and tools (Weekly & Monthly Reports, CMS, CFT, NCR, NBC, etc.)
Develop KPI's and tracking method where needed


Qualifications and Experience 


Bachelor degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
Strong communicator with the ability to communicate effectively in a number of formats
A natural problem solver with a desire to learn 
Excellent computer skills in using Office Applications (Excel, Word, Power Point).
An organised approach to work with excellent attention to detail


Desired skills


Strong interest in the nuclear services industry and a desire to learn and grow in this field.
Experience from a placement year or similar internship would be highly beneficial but not essential
