Project Engineer - Fire, CCTV and Access Control

NG Bailey are proud to be involved in the Hinkley Point C project based in Bridgwater, Somerset.  This is the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in Britain providing zero-carbon electricity for around six million homes. NG Bailey, the UK's leading independent engineering and services business, are proud to be part of the MEH Alliance, a joint venture to deliver the mechanical, electrical and HVAC installation for the project.

As part of recent growth on this project, we have a new vacancy for a fire alarm, fire stopping, CCTV & Access Control Project Engineer to join the project based in Bridgwater.  In this role you will support the coordination of requirements for the fire alarm, fire stopping, CCTV and access control energisation, delivering procedures, processes and support reporting in line with all construction activities.

 

Some of the key deliverables in this role will include:

  • Liaise with necessary stakeholders to define the boundary of scope of works
  • Ensure all documentation is compliant with latest works information and MEH documentation, regularly review documentation to ensure up to date.  Prioritise to enable construction works in line with plan.
  • Take ownership and driving of deliverables from conception to first time accepted criteria.
  • Support continuous improvement programme
  • Provide and demonstrate positive HSE leadership, building a strong and complaint safety culture through the whole construction life cycle.  Ensure compliance with all nuclear safety and site licence requirements
  • Review and feedback on area resource to ensure effective running of the function.
  • Work with the delivery teams to ensure the equipment is on site and in the right place, to provide uninterrupted flow of work

 

 

Qualifications & Experinces: 

  • Experience of delivery of fire alarm/stopping, CCTV and access control in a major construction project
  • Good documentation and communication skills
  • Knowledge of safe systems of work
  • Experience of operating at engineer or senior engineer level
  • Leadership skills
