Project Engineer

NG Bailey are proud to be involved in the Hinkley Point C project based in Bridgwater, Somerset.  This is the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in Britain providing zero-carbon electricity for around six million homes. NG Bailey, the UK's leading independent engineering and services business, are proud to be part of the MEH Alliance, a joint venture to deliver the mechanical, electrical and HVAC installation for the project.

As part of recent growth on this project, we have a new vacancy for a project Engineer to join the Site Wide Engineering team on the project.

Role responsibilities: 

  • Provide and demonstrate a positive HSE leadership, building a strong and compliant HS&E culture throughout the whole construction life cycle of the Project. Ensuring all site activities are undertaken safely and responsibly, and in accordance with the CDM Regulations 
  • Review emergent engineering tasks, review, and develop a response of seek support from the wider engineering team 
  • Monitoring compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications 
  • Raising engineering technical queries and monitoring progress  
  • Review construction engineering deliverables as issued by the client and ensure the team are working to the latest issue 
  • Develop proposals to improve construction methods 
  • Support the Site Wide Team as required with emergent and ongoing scope. 
  • Management of database including data entry 
  • Supporting the Site Wide Leads to deliver the scope  
  • Develop and implement management solutions for the Site Wide Team to keep the leads accountable for their scope.   
  • Construction method improvement plans 
  • Development of Methods of Construction to solve issues  
  • Review of construction documentation 
  • Chair or support construction reviews 
  • Weekly consolidated construction reports 
  • Weekly update of construction progress notice boards 
  • Coordination of project photography and pictorial progress report 
  • Lead and foster a positive Nuclear Safety Culture. 
  • Coordinating service vital in beating project constraints of time, budget & quality, and meeting HPC requirements

 

 

 

Qualifications & Experiences: 

  • HNC/HND/Degree Qualification (or Equivalent) 
  • Relevant Professional Accreditation (PM, Construction, Engineering) 
  • AutoCAD and Navis Works knowledge  
  • CCNSG Safety Passport
  • Experience as a Project Construction Engineer within a infrastructure project-based environment. 
  • Experience working within large scale projects, ideally in a Joint Venture or Alliance environment.
