Onboarding Advisor


Organisation Information: 


Bouygues Travaux Publics (TP) and Laing O’Rourke, two of Europe’s most dynamic engineering and construction specialists, are working together in a joint venture named BYLOR to deliver the main civil engineering works at Hinkley Point C (HPC) worth over £2.8 billion.
Bylor are pushing the boundaries of innovation and modern technology while delivering high quality construction on a massive scale. Bylor have already broken the UK record for the largest continuous concrete pour of 9,000m3 of concrete.

Purpose of the role:


The purpose of this role is to work as part of a team of Bylor On-boarding advisors who process the security and the on-boarding and vetting of both internal and external staff, workforce and supply chain for the Hinkley Point C project in Somerset. This is a critical role as access to site is prohibited unless vetting has been completed and full compliance met. 


Key responsibilities and specific accountabilities:

 

  • To engage with the relevant stakeholders to ensure an efficient and effective on-boarding process.
  • Ensure governance and compliance in line with client requirements in relation to Qualification and Competency checks prior to on-boarding staff.
  • To effectively manage the on-boarding process from start to finish, ensuring key stakeholders are updated each way of the process to ensure workforce labour plans and resourcing plans can be managed. 
  • Administrative focussed role that will require a large amount of time to chase and check information, enter information onto a system and updating trackers.  
  • To ensure that all data captured is managed sensitively and in line with data protection act requirements 
  • Manage the flow of information across the department which feeds into the audit papers, including the alignment of findings with principal risks and tracking of issues, delivery of audit plan.


Security and Vetting

 

  • To ensure that the appropriate protocols are followed in line with Bylor and NNB. 
  • To ensure the escalation process is followed should information come back which needs further investigation. 
  • To ensure full confidentiality of data at all times. 
     

Competence checking

 

  • To ensure the NNB competence framework is adhered to
  • To escalate issues where the role and competence evidenced do not align
  • To document all processes
     

Essential skills & knowledge:


Technical Skills:

 

  • Strong MS office skills particularly within Excel
  • Previous experience of working in a construction project environment


Interpersonal Skills:

 

  • Excellent eye for detail
  • Understand the importance of data management and confidentiality
  • Friendly with an approachable manner. 
  • Copes well under pressure 
  • Communicates clearly and confidently, both orally and in writing
  • Seeks responsibility and shows a willingness to take on and achieve challenging goals.
  • Reacts positively to change and shows tolerance and consideration of others
  • Acts as an ambassador for BYLOR Strategy and inspires all employees to identify the contributions they could make to the project for competitive sustainability.
  • Required to work across multiple sites and to attend events that may be outside working hours. 
  • Any other duties required by the business. 


Additional Information:


All positions with Bylor are employed directly with either Laing O’Rourke or Bouygues Travaux Public and include competitive salaries, private medical insurance, company pension schemes and annual holiday allowance. Some grades will also include a company car allowance. 

Unless stated otherwise all positions are based at Hinkley Point C in Somerset.
Somerset boasts beautiful English countryside, an attractive coastline, interesting towns and villages along with easy access to the M5 and within proximity to the cities of Bristol and Exeter.
