We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to join our Central Production Kitchen team. The role involves handling food, assembling Pre-Packaged Direct Sale (PPDS) products, packing bulk production, labelling items, stock rotation, order picking, and reading production plans to ensure smooth operations. Ideally, the candidate will have prior food handling experience and an understanding of food safety standards.
 

 

Key Responsibilities:


- Food Preparation & Handling, Support food handling and preparation tasks in accordance with hygiene and safety regulations.
- Assembly & Packing,  assemble (PPDS) products, pack bulk production, and ensure accuracy in portioning and presentation.
- Stock Rotation & Labelling, accurately label products, follow stock rotation procedures to maintain freshness, and reduce waste.
- Order Picking & Distribution,  assist with order picking, ensuring correct stock is selected and prepared for distribution.
- Production Plan Execution , Read and follow production plans to meet daily targets and maintain quality standards.
- Team Collaboration, Work effectively within a fast-paced large production team, supporting colleagues to achieve operational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Full, UK driving licence. (Desirable)
  • Level 2 Food Safety Qualification (Desirable)
  • Level 2 H & S Qualification (Desirable)
  • First Aid Certificate (Desirable)


Experience

  • Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and stock rotation procedures.
  • Ability to read and follow production plans and standard operating procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to work efficiently in a high-volume setting.
  • Comfortable handling bulk production and assembling large volumes of PPDS products.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing operational needs.

Pre-Employment Screening

  • Successful applicants will be required to provide a three-year employment history and five-year address history to work on Hinkley Point C.
  • They must be able to provide in date photographic ID and their right to work in the UK so that security clearance can be obtained as these roles are based on a nuclear regulated site.
