Junior/Graduate Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking a Junior / Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team on-site at HPC.


Reporting directly to the Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in Power Transmission project, delivered via FIDIC terms and conditions.


This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a high-value infrastructure project, ensuring cost control, contract management, and overall commercial success.


Key Responsibilities:


Cost Management


Monitor and control project costs to ensure the project is delivered within budget.  
Keep site records including labour, plant and material plus progress records using Field View software.
Analysis site records to identify risks and opportunities.
Validate and manage subcontractor and supplier payments.


Contract Administration


Assist in administering subcontracts using contract administration software "Fast Draft".
Assist in preparing variation proposals (using site records) ensuring timely submissions and agreement.
Work closely with the Construction Manager to maintain accurate and comprehensive site records.


Risk and Value Management


Identify and mitigate commercial risks.
Assist in value engineering to optimise project performance and reduce unnecessary costs.


Reporting


Provide regular financial reports, including cost-value reconciliations (CVRs) and forecasts.


Collaboration


Liaise with the client, subcontractors, and internal teams to maintain strong relationships.
Support the procurement team in evaluating and appointing subcontractors.


Skills & Experience Required


Essential:


Some experience as a Junior Quantity Surveyor on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects would be an advantage.
Excellent financial management and analytical skills.
Effective communication and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., CEMAR, MS Excel, or similar tools).
Some experience or knowledge on power infrastructure or substation projects.
Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, Commercial Management, or a related field
