About the role

 

Balfour Beatty are supporting one of Europe's largest infrastructure projects and the MEH Alliance is playing a critical role in the delivery of Hinkley Point C. We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to join our growing digital team and help drive the delivery of business-critical technology solutions across the organisation


 



This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled project professional who enjoys working in complex environments, engaging with a wide range of stakeholders and delivering technical and business change initiatives from inception through to implementation.

What you'll be doing

 

Working within the MEH Alliance IT function, you'll be responsible for leading and coordinating the successful delivery of IT projects across a diverse portfolio. Operating within a pool and assignment model, you will manage projects aligned to business priorities, ensuring successful outcomes while balancing competing demands and stakeholders. 


You will act as the link between technical teams and business stakeholders, becoming a trusted partner and ensuring business requirements are clearly understood and translated into successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities, 



  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of IT projects and workstreams.

  • Manage project plans, budgets, risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies.

  • Coordinate internal teams and third-party suppliers.

  • Produce and maintain project documentation, reporting and governance artefacts.

  • Drive delivery against agreed timelines, budgets and quality standards.

  • Facilitate stakeholder communications at all levels of the business.

  • Ensure effective resource allocation across project activities.

  • Support financial management, forecasting and accrual processes.

  • Provide regular progress updates to sponsors, steering groups and senior leadership teams.


 

Who we're looking for

 

We're looking for an experienced IT Project Manager with a proven track record of successfully delivering technology projects within complex, multi-disciplinary organisations.

Essential, 



  • Degree qualified or equivalent experience.

  • Professional project management qualification such as PRINCE2 Practitioner, APMP, Scrum Master or similar.

  • Experience delivering technical and business change projects.

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

  • Ability to influence, negotiate and build relationships at all levels.

  • Eligible to obtain BPSS Security Clearance


 


Desirable, 



  • Cloud technologies and Azure.

  • Microsoft 365 environments.

  • Applications, infrastructure and databases.

  • Software development projects.

  • Project governance and portfolio delivery
