Role Purpose:

The Solution & Information Architect is responsible for defining, governing and assuring enterprise technology, data and information architectures across MEH Alliance. 


The role provides architectural leadership for business applications, data platforms, integrations, cloud services, Microsoft technologies and digital solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives, regulatory requirements and long-term strategic goals. 


Working across Digital, Business Operations and Project Delivery teams, the Solution & Information Architect translates business requirements into scalable, secure and supportable solutions while establishing architectural standards, information models, integration patterns and governance processes. 
 

The role plays a key part in shaping the future digital landscape of the organisation, ensuring technology solutions, business systems and enterprise data assets are designed and managed as strategic business capabilities

Accountabilities

Enterprise Architecture & Strategy

• Develop and maintain enterprise architecture principles, standards and roadmaps. 
• Define future-state architecture aligned to business strategy and operational objectives. 
• Produce high-level designs (HLDs) and low-level designs (LLDs) for enterprise solutions.  
• Ensure all technology investments align with enterprise architecture standards. 
• Support creation of digital transformation and technology roadmaps. 
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend strategic adoption opportunities.  


Solution Architecture 

• Produce high-level designs (HLDs) and low-level designs (LLDs) for enterprise solutions.  
• Translate business requirements into scalable, secure and maintainable technical solutions.  
• Provide architecture guidance across cloud, infrastructure, business applications, data platforms and integration services.  
• Ensure solutions deliver business value whilst meeting performance, security and operational requirements. 

 

Information Architecture

• Define and maintain enterprise information architecture and information management standards. 
• Establish business information models, metadata standards and information lifecycles. 
• Develop data domain ownership and stewardship frameworks. 
• Support enterprise data governance initiatives and master data management practices. 
• Ensure information assets are structured, governed and accessible in accordance with business and regulatory requirements. 

 

Data & Integration Architecture

• Define data architecture patterns supporting reporting, analytics and operational systems. 
• Govern integration standards across enterprise applications and platforms. 
• Support architecture decisions involving Azure Data Services, Databricks, SQL platforms and enterprise integrations.  
• Ensure scalable and resilient data movement, ingestion and transformation processes are established. 

 

Architecture Governance & Assurance

• Operate and support Architecture Review Board (ARB) processes.  
• Review supplier designs and technical deliverables.  
• Ensure solutions comply with cybersecurity, regulatory and organisational standards.  
• Conduct architecture assessments and manage technical debt considerations. 
• Maintain architecture repositories, standards and documentation.

 

Stakeholder Engagement

• Partner with business stakeholders, project teams and technology suppliers. 
• Provide technical leadership across programmes and projects.
• Translate business requirements into scalable, secure and maintainable technical solutions.  
• Provide architecture guidance across cloud, infrastructure, business applications, data platforms and integration services.  
• Ensure solutions deliver business value whilst meeting performance, security and operational requirements. 


Information Architecture

• Define and maintain enterprise information architecture and information management standards.

Minimum Qualifications/ Experience

• Degree (or equivalent) in Data Science, Computing or related field. 
• 5+ years of experience delivering complex Data & BI solutions in a leadership capacity. 
• Experience producing architecture deliverables including: 
• High-Level Designs 
• Low-Level Designs 
• Architecture Decision Records 
• Technology Roadmaps 
• Integration Diagrams 
• Experience operating within governance and assurance frameworks.  
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills. 


Additional Qualifications/ Experience

• TOGAF Certification.  
• ITIL Certification.  
• Microsoft Fabric, Databricks or Data Platform certifications.  
• Experience within Nuclear, Construction, Infrastructure or highly regulated environments.  
• Knowledge of Information Governance and Records Management.  
• Experience supporting AI, Automation and Digital Transformation programmes.
