Job Responsibilities:
• Provide proactive health & safety support to site teams and subcontractors.
• Ensure compliance with relevant UK legislation including the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and CDM Regulations 2015.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety tours, reporting findings and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
• Assist in the development and review of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
• Deliver safety briefings, inductions, and toolbox talks.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending preventative measures.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure adherence to project safety standards.
• Support the implementation of behavioural safety initiatives and campaigns.
• Maintain accurate health & safety records and documentation.
• Liaise with client representatives, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications:
• NEBOSH General Certificate (essential)
• NEBOSH Construction Certificate (desirable)
• Membership of Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (TechIOSH/GradIOSH preferred)
• CSCS Card (Health & Safety category)
Experience:
• Proven experience in a Health & Safety role within large-scale construction or infrastructure projects
• Experience working on high-risk environments (e.g. nuclear, energy, or major civil engineering projects) is highly desirable
• Strong knowledge of UK health & safety legislation and best practices
