Position Summary:

The Finance Officer reports to the Management Accountant and is responsible for managing and maintaining the organisation's revenue and accounts receivable function. This role involves accurate reporting to various stakeholders, monitoring outstanding balances, allocating BACS remittances, reconciling accounts, and following up on overdue accounts. The Finance Officer works closely with customers and internal colleagues to ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards. Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to meet deadlines are essential for this role.

Performance & Reporting:

•    Accurate, timely and effective reporting of all revenues to internal and external stakeholders 
•    Effective aged debtor management
•    Support in the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
•    Reconcile bank statements to ensure all transactions are recorded correctly
•    Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
•    Preparation of the quarterly VAT return
•    Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations regarding financial reporting
•    Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes
•    Champion HOST's brand philosophy: "A good night's sleep means a good day's work' 
•    Deputises for the Management Accountant when required


Qualifications for the role: 

•    Must be AAT Qualified (or higher) or working towards


Experience:

•    Demonstrable success in a similar role or a transferable skill set
•    Excellent Customer Service skills
•    Able to work on own initiative
•    Strategic in their over-all approach to business and a confident decision maker
•    Highly efficient with the ability to prioritise tasks
•    Accountable for their decisions and follow ups
•    Excellent communication skills adaptable to a wide range of audiences
•    Meticulous record keeping skills
•    Base level H&S training
•    Must be proficient in IT/Microsoft Office, including strong Microsoft Excel skills
•    Must have excellent attention to detail, with an inquisitive and questioning mindset
•    Must be able to work on their own initiative 
•    Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to all stakeholders 
•    Must have strong organisational and administrative skills    
•    Must be highly personable with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the business
