Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week
This role can be based in our Bridgwater Office adjacent to SDC1, J23 off the M5 or our Head Office in Blackburn Lancs, with Hybrid working with agreement with line manager. Role requires BPSS Enhanced Clearance followed by SC assessment & clearance.

Job Responsibilities:
To lead and manage the design function for high-security electronic security systems serving critical national infrastructure, government and defence customers.
The Design Manager ensures that all designs are robust, compliant and proportionate to the threat, meeting applicable UK regulations, security standards and accreditation requirements. The role provides technical leadership across bids and project delivery, enabling safe, resilient and auditable systems for high-risk environments.
Qualifications:
- Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering,
- Security Engineering,
- Building Services or related discipline;
- or equivalent high-security design experience.
- Recognised training on electronic security systems (CCTV, access control, intruder, integration platforms); advanced/high-security product training desirable.
- ECS/CSCS or equivalent industry card (desirable).
Experience:
- Substantial experience in the UK electronic security systems industry, including significant exposure to at least one of:
- Critical national infrastructure (e.g. utilities, transport, data centres, energy)
- Central/local government estates and secure facilities
- Defence, MoD or defence supply-chain projects
- Proven track record of designing and delivering complex, integrated security systems in high-risk or regulated environments.
- Experience of working within multi-disciplinary project teams alongside main contractors, consultants, IT, and security authorities.
- Demonstrable experience leading design teams or acting as technical authority on high-security projects.
- Familiarity with assurance and accreditation processes used by CNI/government/defence clients (to the extent permitted by prior contracts).
