At EDF, Success is Personal. This is your opportunity to make a lasting impact while developing your career in a role of national importance.

The Opportunity

As the Cyber Security Information Assurance Lead (Pre Ops), you'll play a key role in preparing Hinkley Point C for safe and secure operations. You'll influence strategy, support operational readiness and help create the secure environment needed for the long-term success of one of the UK's newest power stations.

Who You Are

We're looking for an experienced cyber security information assurance lead who thrives in a regulated environment and can confidently lead both people and processes. You'll combine strong technical understanding with excellent organisational skills and a proactive approach to managing risk.

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

Previous leadership and supervisory experience managing people and processes
Experience working within a regulated environment, with nuclear industry experience desirable
Proven experience developing and implementing operational cyber security arrangements
Strong cyber security risk management experience within complex operational environments
Excellent self-management and self-motivation skills, with the ability to work independently and prioritise effectively
Experience influencing stakeholders and driving cyber security outcomes across multiple teams
Operational technology (OT) experience desirable
Ability to meet Security Clearance requirements

To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Clearance (SC), which will ordinarily require you to have been resident in the UK for the last five years.

What You’ll Be Doing

Leading the development and implementation of operational cyber security arrangements for Hinkley Point C
Establishing security controls, standards and processes to support the station's transition into operations
Managing cyber security risks and ensuring effective mitigation strategies are in place
Providing leadership, guidance and oversight for cyber security activities across the site
Working closely with internal and external stakeholders to support operational readiness and regulatory compliance
Supporting the protection of critical operational and industrial control systems
Driving continuous improvement in cyber security capability, governance and culture

Pay, Benefits and Culture

Alongside a salary starting from £66,866 per annum, depending on experience and a market-leading pension scheme, you'll have access to a range of benefits including an annual bonus opportunity, electric vehicle leasing, private healthcare options, life assurance and discounts on everyday spending.

Why Join Us?

For more than 60 years, nuclear power stations in the UK have been quietly keeping Britain fuelled with massive amounts of home-grown energy.

Our teams up and down the country are proudly continuing to serve the nation – but they also have an eye on the future.

EDF is leading the UK's nuclear renaissance with the construction of a new nuclear power station at Hinkley Point C and plans for a new power station at Sizewell C in Suffolk.

Nuclear power is the most reliable, low-carbon energy source currently available to the UK. EDF is playing a key role in the development of nuclear sites, while Hinkley Point C will provide low-carbon electricity to meet 7% of the UK demand. The project is already making a positive impact on the local and national economy as well as boosting skills and education.

We’re not just building new nuclear power stations. We’re developing careers, upskilling generations and creating thousands of employment and apprenticeship opportunities across a variety of skills areas.

It takes a special kind of person to work in the nuclear energy industry and although we have thousands of them there’s always a need for more.

Our industry has a mind-boggling range of opportunities and more jobs, and in more places, than you might think. But it’s also an industry which is changing.

We’re a responsible business and proud to be Britain’s biggest generator of zero carbon electricity. With size, age and experience, we believe we can do even more.
