Main Duties:


    Measuring, marking up, cutting, shaping, fitting and finishing timber, plywood and woods.
    Installing but not limited to floor covering, floor protection, void covers, temporary supports and wall partitions.
    Preassemble, assemble and secure wooden members of the temporary works according to specifications and drawings by welding or bolting.
    Measuring, marking up, cutting, shaping, fitting and finishing timber; Installing but not limited to floor covering, floor protection, void covers, temporary supports and wall partitions; Understanding and working with technical drawings.
    Installation and preparation of related temporary supports.
    Carrying and setting up all supporting equipment such as powered saws, grinding machine, smoke extractor... etc
    Cut, grind, and clean the temporary supports and void covers
    Understanding and working with technical drawings, Lay out full-scale drawings of equipment, supports, and related wooden components.
    Repairs and replaces worn equipment pieces as per requirement.
    Assisting with the installation of equipment and its components by using hand and power tools.
    Not assigned to carpentry duties, the employee shall carry out Supervisor-assigned tasks such as Fire Watcher and General Operator activities, as required by site operations.
    Shall ensure that a "zero harm" approach is taken in relation to all his acts and omissions in relation to the services and the project. Acknowledges that due to the nature of the project, nuclear safety and security are of paramount importance.
    Agrees to comply with any rule, instruction or requirement of the Company in relation to the services which the company determines, in his sole and absolute discretion, is necessary in order for the company to comply with his obligations under the nuclear site license.
    Housekeeping of the work areas; collection, segregation and disposal of wastes as required; removal of unused materials and clear the work floors to eliminate/reduce slipping or tripping risks in your work area.
    Safe use, protection, storage and care of general maintenance products, hand and power tools


You must: 


    Take care of your own health and safety and that of people who may be affected by what you do (or do not do); 
    Co-operate with others on health and safety, and not interfere with, or misuse, anything provided for your health, safety or welfare; 
    Follow the training you have received when using any work items your employer has given you.
    The employee is responsible for the fabrication, maintenance, and repair of temporary void covers and associated materials used to secure structural openings. Responsibilities include manufacturing covers from raw materials, repairing or replacing damaged components, applying protective coatings, and installing compliant signage to ensure correct and safe use. All work must comply with technical documentation and production standards, with any deviations reported to supervisors
    While the employee does not conduct inspections, they are required to participate in scheduled inspections of void covers and related temporary materials. This includes supporting inspection activities, staying informed of findings, and assisting in the implementation of any required corrective actions


Requirements:


One of the following:


-NVQ Level 2 in Wood Occupations (Construction) 6571,
Carpentry and Joiner - Level 2 Diploma, Apprenticeship in Bench Joinery

and

Hold or Can achieve CCNSG Safety Passport.
Have a minimum of 3 years of work experience in carpentry works.
